Abstract

268,902. Holmes, W. F., and Holmes & Co., Ltd., W. F. Jan. 20, 1926. Mats.-Table mats are constructed of outer surfaces of waterproof material having a fabric base, such as imitation linen, which surround a heat-insulating layer, the lower outer surface being smooth and secured to the upper by a known cement consisting of a solution of a cellulose ester. An inner disc 10 of stiffening material, such as leatherboard, has applied to each side sheets 12, 13 of heat-insulating paper, the sheets 13 being of felt paper such as thick brown paper. The uppermost sheets 13 are covered with a second disc 11 of leatherboard over which is placed a sheet 14 of patterned waterproof material, such as waterproof imitation linen, larger in diameter than the heatinsulating discs and adapted to be folded over the edge thereof at 15. Over the remaining surface, which in use is the lower surface, is placed a disc 16 of smooth waterproof material. To secure the two sheets together, the abutting faces are covered with the cement to which reference has been made. Specification 253,323 is referred to.
