Abstract

268,790. Goldschmidt, R., (trading as Goldschmidt, R. [Firm of]). March 30, 1926, [Convention date]. Potassium compounds, recovering from liquors containing organic matters.-A process for obtaining concentrated potassium solutions from distillery washes consists in separating out the suspended matter comprising yeast cells, nitrogenous and other compounds into a semi-solid or solid mass, the clean centrifuged liquor being used for preparing new mash. the resulting wash being again centrifuged and the clean liquor returned for preparing a further mash, this cycle being repeated until the concentration of salts interferes with the normal fermentation process.
