Rotary mixers.-A concrete &c. mixer of the rotary, tilting drum type has the bottom shaped to provide one or more helical surfaces with sudden drops or steps between the base of one surface and the top of the next. As shown, the drum A, provided with a frusto-conical mouth B, has two such steps J between which the bottom is in the form of helices K. The steps J may be plane, as shown, or convex, and the helices may be transversely curved. The bottom of the drum may be formed by pressing or stamping. The drum is mounted on a shaft F having a rounded head H. Specification 236,278 is referred to.
