Abstract

268,517. Gasking, J. L., and Wilson, G. Feb. 24, 1926. Metallic fabrics.-In mats of the chain link type having links 6 threaded on U-shaped base wires 5, the outer ends 5a of the wires are turned over and passed through central holes 7b in the adjacent outer links 7a of the mat and are then bent back against these links to lock them in position. As shown some of the links 6 may be threaded on' both limbs of the wires, and others on adjacent wires. Washers &c. 8 may be used and outer links 7, 7a which may be reinforced by metal links 9, 9a. Metal reinforcing links may also be incorporated in the interior of the mat, and alternate base wires may be reversed instead of them all being arranged in the same way.
