Abstract

Capsules and like closures; stoppers with valves.-A bottle closure comprises a metal. lic cap having formed in its top portion 11 an integral flap 14 capable of being swung outwardly with respect to the top portion to form a discharge opening, and a sealing disc 22 in the cap, a portion of the sealing disc being secured to the flap to swing therewith. Parallel slits 15 are cut in the top 11 to form the flap 14, and a lifter 20 is secured to the free end of the flap which rests on shoulders 17 formed in the top portion 11. Extending downwardly from these shoulders are parallel blades 18 adapted to penetrate almost but not quite to the lower face of the packing disc 22. Bent arms 21 on the underside of the flap 14 secure the packing disc to it. When the lifter 20 is raised it pulls up the flap 14 and the blades 18 completely sever the packing disc, leaving an aperture through which the content of the bottle may be discharged.
