Abstract

266,363. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Feb. 17, 1926, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Fillers.-Wood, plaster &c. is primed by applying thereto the varnishes described in Specifications 263,175 and 263,184, which comprise cellulose nitrate, drying oils or oil varnishes, a mutual solvent for the oil &c. and cellulose nitrate, with or without a solvent for the oil &c. but not for the cellulose nitrate. An additional quantity of drying oil or drying oil-varnish may be added if desired, or, in the case of coarse porous surfaces, inert filling materials such as slate powder, diatomaceous earth, gypsum, pumice or glass powder, colouring matters, &c. with or without powdered resins. The additional oil or varnish should not exceed about 15 per cent.
