Abstract

265,360. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., and Trencham, H. Jan. 15, 1926. Switchgear.-To facilitate inspection of switchg e a r comprising oil switches isolating bus bars &c. mounted on a framework or steel structure, a passage 38 is arranged at the upper end of the structure and is screened by movable shutters 39 from the bus bars and other live parts. The switchgear shown comprises an oil switch 13 connected by an isolating switch 23 to a cable junction box 26 and a potential transformer 28 and by two isolating' switches 17 to duplicate bus bars 15. The passage 38 is arranged between the bus bars 15 and the screens 39 slide along guides 41 so as to assume either a vertical or a horizontal position, and known interlocking devices may prevent movement of the screens till the appropriate isolating switches are open. The invention is equally applicable to D.C. and polyphase circuits.
