Abstract
264,869. Nacken, W. Jan. 22, 1926, [Convention date]. Drawing wire.-In wire-drawing machine, the wire passes over a series of wide drawing- drums a<1>, a<2> preferably of slightly conical form and arranged obliquely as shown in Fig. 3 so that wire passes in a coarse-pitch helix over the drums and is guided from the front of one drum, through one of the dies f<1>, f<2> and onto the rear of the succeeding drum. By this arrangement the wire slides obliquely on the surfaces of the drawing-drums, thus permitting efficient lubrication and avoiding cutting of the wire into the drum-surfaces.
