264,137. Doebeli, A. Jan. 11, 1926, [Convention date]. Tickets, holding and issuing.-Comprises means for issuing simultaneously selected numbers of stamps, tickets &c. of different denominations from continuous strips or sheets. The different rolls of strip are arranged in a trough 27 from which the strips 10 are led over feeding rollers 8 having pins 9 adapted to engage transverse perforations in the strips. The rollers 8 have pinions 6 meshing with gears 5 which are loosely mounted on a common actuating shaft 2 to which they are coupled by a device which determines the number of stamps &c. of each denomination to be issued. The coupling device comprises a bank of keys 45 for each section, and a segment 1 mounted on the shaft 2, and carrying radial pins 3. When a key is depressed, the corresponding pin 3 is pushed into engagement with the teeth of a wheel 4, thus coupling that wheel to the segment 1 at a selected point. The wheel 4 is secured to the hub of the feed-wheel driving gear 5. The shaft 2 is turned through part of a revolution, when the actuating handle 43 is given one turn, by a mutilated pinion 41, pinion 40, and sector 59. Cams 23 are arranged in each section to push the selected pin 3 out of engagement with its wheel 4 when the desired number of stamps &c. has been fed forward in that section. At the end of a stroke, the segments 1 drop back to their initial position under the action of gravity, the first part of the movement being assisted by the spring of the cutting device 36. They are yieldingly held in normal position by a spring-pressed bolt 21 engaging a pin 19, and the gears 5 are held in advanced position during the cutting operation by spring-pressed bolts 14 engaging holes 13, or by bolts engaging the teeth of the wheel 4. Stops 44 are provided for the handle 43. Fingers 28<1> are arranged in each section to strip the tickets &c. from the drums, and fingers 12, Fig. 5, bear upon the strips. When a strip is exhausted, the corresponding finger 12 rocks about its pivot and releases a slide which prevents the pins 3 from being engaged with the wheel 4. Means are provided for feeding out the last portion of an exhausted strip., The shaft 2 may be actuated by power, and two machines may be combined so that one or the other may be operated by a single, axially-adjustable, handle. Where wide sheets are first out of the machine, the feeding rollers are built in sections, and the reels are supported upon rollers in the trough 27. Additional stripping fingers 28<1> are also provided in each section. The machine may be rendered inoperable by removing one of the driving gears. Tickets, cutting-off.-Wedge-shaped cutters 35, Fig. 5, mounted on spring-pressed blocks 36, are actuated by lugs 49 on the segments 1 at the end of their stroke. The severed stamps &c. pass over guides 28 to a delivery outlet 32. Where wide sheets are used in the machine, a cutter having a serrated edge is employed. Spring- pressed plungers 37 hold the strip while it is being severed. Registering number and value.-In each section of the machine a counter 38, visible through an opening 46, is arranged to be driven by a pinion 39 meshing with the wheel 5.
