Abstract

263,745. Beer, A. Dec. 31, 1925, [Convention date]. Resistance ovens; electric radiators. -A combined oven and radiator comprises an oven chamber with an opening on its lateral wall in which is mounted a heating element 23, and a pivoted reflector 12 which closes the opening and is operated to direct heat into the oven or into the room. The reflector may be locked in either position. The heating element is in the form of a bar connected by springs 22 mounted in sockets 21 engaging plugs 20 secured to arms 18 fixed to end plates 13 carrying the reflector. The plates 13 carry sleeves 14 journaled in the end plates of the oven. A grid 24 is fitted in front of the heating element.. The roasting split 27 engages slots 48 in the end plates 2 and may be fixed at different distances from the heating element. It is rotated by a clockwork mechanism 25 pivoted to one of the end plates. Boiling vessels may be piaced on a grid 34. A drip gutter 35 is situated under the grid. Liquids collecting therein may be poured into a vessel 39 fitted with a sieve 40 and discharging into a perforated pipe 42 in the tap of the oven. The vessel is supported on a hollow bracket 36 communicating with the interior of the oven. A sliding door 11 and lifting handles 8 are fitted to the oven.
