The top cloth is then sewn to the bottom cloth 7 to form pockets which are filled with down. The pockets over the wadding may also be filled with down. A pocket to accommodate articles of clothing may be formed by a flap 21 sewn along three sides to the coverlet, and comprising top and bottom cloths between which wadding is sewn. A valance made in three pieces 28 or in one piece is sewn to three sides of the coverlet. Specification 13979/93 is referred to.
