Abstract

263,634. Igranic Electric Co., Ltd., and Spaink, J. H. Abbink-. Jan. 15, 1926. Liquid resistances.-An adjustable electric resistance consists of a liquid, such as Indian ink, a suspension of pipe-clay &c., in a flexible container which can be deformed to alter the resistance. In the arrangement shown the container consists of a rubber tube 1 secured at its ends to tubes 3 like those of cycle valves, through which the tube 1 can be filled. One of the tubes is attached to a fixed post 4 and the other to a post 4a which can be moved by means of a screw 8 to stretch the tube 1. A modification is described in which the tube 1 is wrapped round a rotatable disc.
