Dec. 21, 1925, [Convention date]. 2-Oxy-3-brompyridine-5-arsinic acid is obtained by treating 2-oxypyridine-5-arsinic acid with bromine or a substance liberating bromine. An example is given. The product possesses trypanocidal and spirillocidal properties. Specification 250,287 is referred to. 2-Oxy-3 : 5-diiodopyridine is formed when 2. oxypyridine-5-arsinic acid is treated with iodine or an iodine-yielding material.
