Abstract

Omamenting.-Synthetic resin, such as a phenol formaldehyde condensation product, is dissolved in denatured ethyl alcohol having a boiling point of less than 210‹ F. and is applied to the silvered surface in the form of a layer. The glass is then heated to a temperature of about 200‹ F. to polymerize the resin, the temperature being maintained for about two hours to cause the resin to retain a certain amount of plasticity. The solution is applied to a glass plate e by means of a nozzle d connected by a tube b to a tank a, excess solution flowing into a gutter f.
