Pinless hinges.-Chains are made up by interlinking a number of similar links of the shape shown in Figs. 1 and 2 by bending the wings 2 of the links about the lines a, a over the wings of adjacent links to form a hinge connection as shown in Fig. 6. The wings 2 are bent down on the same side of the strip 1 and connected together by solder to form links of uniform width. A stud 5, Fig. 9, may be provided on each link to engage a co-operating slot 6 in the wing of the adjacent link. The members 4, Fig. 8, of an article such as a bracelet or necklace, may be linked together by soldering the links in slots cut in the edges of the members, the depth of the slot being so arranged that the members pivot about a point at the level of the outer faces of the numbers.
