Droppers comprise a pair of wires 1, 2 preferably crimped and notched to receive the fencing wires 4, connected at their upper ends by a separate headpiece 6. The head-piece may be formed, as shown, as an arch with depending legs 7, 8 encircling the wires 1, 2 and fastened thereto and to the upper fencing wire by a fastener 5, or the head-piece may be formed as two telescoping- portions embracing the upper ends of the dropper wires. In a third form a onepiece head is cast about the upper ends of the dropper wires.
