Seats, arrangement and disposition of. - A motor-vehicle seat, particularly adapted for facilitating its use by cripples or invalids, is supported so that it can be swung into or out of the vehicle and also be moved into proximity with nr away from the ground. In the construction shown, the seat a is supported by a sleevebracket b which is free to swing on a vertical screw-threaded post c mounted on the foot-board and can also be raised or lowered when it is in the swung-out position by rotating the post c from a handle or hand-wheel j. The door d is preferably hinged at its forward edge d', and the door-post e and a portion f of the body side swing with the seat. The floor of the car is provided with a block over which the seat moves and to which the seat may be locked by any suitable means. In a modification, the displacement of the seat, instead of being effected by independent vertical and horizontal movements, is effected by a single movement, the seat in this arrangement being supported on an arm secured to an horizontal shaft, which is swung outwardly and downwardly by means of a worm and wormwheel.
