Description

IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO SMOKE INHALING APPARATUS
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to smoke inhaling apparatus, particularly though not exclusively to hookahs and to heat management devices and tobacco bowls therefore.
BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION
There exist a variety of apparatus to facilitate the production and inhalation of smoke and in particular tobacco smoke. One such apparatus is a hookah in which tobacco is heated producing gases (smoke) which can be inhaled.
With a known hookah tobacco is placed in a bowl having circular cross section and hot coals are located over the tobacco to heat the tobacco. Hot gases then flow from the bowl through a stem into a water chamber having circular cross section. The gases bubble through the water cooling them and then pass to a pipe through which they can be inhaled.
Traditionally coals were located over the tobacco by placing them on metal foil. This had a number of disadvantages including that the coals could burn too quickly and tobacco could be overheated. Attempts have been made to address this by using a heat management device in place of the metal foil. Known heat management devices are metal containers having a circular cross section with a base part to hold coals and a lid part. Such heat management devices represent an improvement over the use of metal foils but still have a number of disadvantages including poor control of coal burn rate.
Accordingly, the present invention aims to address at least one disadvantage associated with known smoke inhaling apparatus whether discussed herein or otherwise.
