Abstract

An apparatus for molding food product from non-fluid sticky minces having a container for mince, a mold plate having at least one molding cavity, at least one piston for ejecting food product from the mold plate. The mold pate has a cut through the molding cavities which allows moving the parts of the plate apart in the directions parallel to the plate surface during which te mince can fall into the space between the separated plate parts. Connecting of the plate parts is performed at least once in every molding cycle to compact the mince in the molding cavities. The invention enables molding of food products from minces with poor fluidity. Additionally, the apparatus does not require a pumping device since gravity is sufficient to enable food product to enter the space between the mold pates, and thus saves energy.
