Abstract

261,193. Clinton, A. E. Nov. 27. 1925. Guarding against unauthorized use.-A device for stopping the fuel supply and short-circuiting the ignition comprises a spindle A connected with a valve L in the fuel pipe by a wire K. In the normal position a handle F pivoted to the spindle is horizontal and the spindle withdrawn so that the valve is held raised. Terminals O<1> in the ignition circuit are mounted on an insulating plate P. In the position shown they are earthed by contact with a member N. When the handle F is raised the member N is withdrawn and the ignition is not interfered with. The spindle is held in the position shown by a detent E<1> actuated by a lock E. The detent is withdrawn when the lock is operated by a key which can only be removed when the device is in locked position.
