Abstract
A water energy conversion device comprises a water damming assembly provided in a watercourse (6, figure 19) (e.g. river) and comprising a rectangular support frame 1 provided with a sheet metal shutter 24. A position changing assembly 23 for changing the position of the water damming assembly comprises a driving sub-assembly which includes a threaded bar 57 rotated by an electric motor 70 connected to a controller 76 and is detachably connected to a reinforced concrete foundation (4, figure 19), a shoulder of which is hinged to an internal vertical post 2 of the support frame. A pusher frame 17 comprises bifurcated arms 16, 16' hinged with upper and lower free ends of the support frame and is connected to the threaded bar by a nut (22, figure 9) such that rotation of the threaded bar causes the nut to travel there along and causes the shutter to pivot relative to the foundation. The free end of the support frame is also detachably connected to a water turbine 10 which drives electric generator 50. A non-contact sensor of water level in the watercourse is located above the water level and is connected to the controller.
