Abstract

260,921. Schwarzenberger, H., and Schmidt, W. Aug. 27, 1926. Cases designed to be of variable capacity.-In an expanding case &c. the hinges and fastening means comprise flexible bands, each of which is rigidly secured at one end to either the lid or body of the case and is adapted for adjustable connection with the other element of the case. The hinge bands 3 are preferably secured to the lid 2 and pass through slots 6 in the body 1 wherein are provided studs 7 with which slots in the bands engage. The fastening bands 8 are also secured to the lid and are held towards their free ends by pins 12 of locks 11, loops being provided on the bottom of the body to receive the free ends of the bands. The bands may be of leather, flexible metal, chain, &c.
