Abstract

A blank having scored grooves on the top face (a1, a2, b1, b2, c1, c2, d1 and d2) and further scored grooves on the bottom face (e, f and g). By folding downward along the grooves on the top face and folding upward along the grooves on the bottom face, a three-dimensional u-shaped channel guide device is formed. A smaller fold on the side of the formed device serves to lock the device in its three-dimensional arrangement. The u-shaped channel guide is attached to a planar shape (fig 3) by means of a patterned slot (b, fig 3) in the planar shape. When arranged in pairs, the channel guides form a converging channel into which fastening members (fig 5) may be inserted, securing two such planar shapes together.

Description

APPLICATION NUMBER: GB2101896.5 TITILE: DUAL CONECTIVITY Of PLANAR OBJECTS, TILES, BY UTILIZING THE FOLDABLE USHAPE-CHANNELLED GUIDE PIECES
INTRODUCTION
The construction of geometrical shapes may baffle and confuse many people. Early childhood tactile 3D experiences are essential in the development of geometrical concepts, which will later pave the way to abstract thinking. The main emphasis will be on developing spatial awareness in children, as well as assuring that they acquire pleasant experiences with it.
To understand the Dual Connectivity, unlike many other construction methods, the ones which use specially designed brick/block connectivity, the Dual Connectivity is based on tile, flat geometrical objects whereby all edges boast the Dual-Connectivity, a new concept of connectivity. The main point is all about how to define and achieve this dual connectivity.
DESCRIPTION
TITLE: DUAL CONNECTIVITY of planar objects/tiles by utilizing FOLDABLE u-shape-channelledguidQpieces.
FIGURE 1 shows the FLAT design of THE FOLDABLE U-SHAPE PIECE, which boasts two types of GROOVES, along which lines an intended fold will occur, grooves scored on the topside will fold downwards, grooves scored on the underside will fold upwards.
From the diagram the following lines are to be scored on the topside of the flat foldable piece: al and a2 bland b2 cl and c2 dl and d2.
The lines that are to be scored on the underside of the flat foldable: e, f and g.
The areas marked down as A, B, C are to be removed.
FIGURE 2 is a perspective view of the FOLDABLE U-SHAPE piece already transmuted into a U-SHAPEDCHANNELLED-GUIDE piece by compressing the flaps marked down as (a) and (b).
Please note that the flap marked down as (d) folds inwardly, thus absorbing the pressure of the fold and keeping the whole FOLDABLE piece in the firm shape so that it does not revert to its previous flat state.
The slot marked down as (e), the function of which is to stop any upward or downward movement at the rear of the foldable piece.
FIGURE 3 is a flat view of a pentagonal tile with perforated slots where Foldable u-shapechannelled-guide pieces are to be inserted to perform dual connectivity.
Please note that the flap marked down as (a) is a flexible piece with a tongue-like protrusion which moves up or down to accommodate a FOLDABLE U-SHAPE piece when moving into its intended slot.
The area marked down as (b) is a perforation through which the folded wing of the FOLDABLE piece is to be slotted in.
Each edge of the pentagon boasts a pair of u-shape-channelled guide pieces, marked down as (c), which converge (Convergence defined by GB 246954 I.V.) to each other.
FIGURE 4 By pressing the movable protrusion marked down as (a) upwards or downwards allows the tongue-like protrusion to move through the rectangular aperture on the FOLDABLE ushape-channelled-guide piece, thus creating a firm bond with it. The Foldable u-shapechannelled-guide piece can easily be moved out of this position by simply pressing the movable protrusion (a) of the patterned slot upwards or downwards then sliding the ushape-channelled-guide piece out of its position.
It should be noted that a pair of u-shape-channelled-guide pieces when positioned in the patterned slots form two-level converging entry passages, the upper one and the lower level one, for the fastening members to link up with the other planar objects. It is also important to point out that the function of the movable tongue-like protrusion is essential in forming the two-level-entry passages for the straight or adjustable fastening members to lock in with a click.
FIGURE 5 Shows two fastening members, a straight one and an angular one.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMSThat the DUAL CCONNECTIVITY OF PLANAR OBJECTS can be achieved by using THE FOLDABLE U-SHAPE-CHANNELLED GUIDE PIECE: a) whereby the flat design of the u-shape-channelled-guide piece boasts scored grooves on the topside of the plastic, which fold downwards, and scored grooves lines on the underside, which fold upwards, thus the pattern is predetermined for the folding procedure.b) whereby by compressing the main flaps on the flat pre-determined u-shape inwardly, the flat design transmutes into the u-shape-channelled-guide piece. The smaller fold on the side of the u-shaped-channelled-guide moves inwardly thus fixing the final figure of the u-shape-channelled-guide piece and preventing its reversal to the original flat state.c) whereby a notch boasted at the rear of the folded piece is designated to stop any further movement either upwards or downwards, d) whereby by lifting or depressing the tongue-like flexible protrusions located in the middle of the patterned slot, thus the entry of the tongue-like protrusion is facilitated into the rectangular aperture on the Foldable u-shapedchannelled guide piece.e) whereby a pair of u-shape-channelled-guide pieces positioned in their designated-patterned slots converge (convergence defined by GB246954 I.V.) to each other thus two converging passages are formed, the upper and lower one, for the straight and angular fastening members to perform DUAL CON ECTIVITY.f) whereby the fundamental function of this tongue-like protrusion on planar objects, tiles, is to create TWO-LEVEL ENTRIES with converging passages.g) By using the Foldable U-shape channelled guide piece the following can be achieved: a) Easier storage of Foldable flat pieces, b) Easier transport, c) Production simplified.
