Abstract

Over 40% of global trades have unmet financing needs. Financial institutions do not feel secure financing cross-border trades by small and medium-sized enterprises from multiple jurisdictions. It is challenging when suppliers demand payment before shipping their goods and buyers insisting on paying only after receiving the goods. Furthermore, the need for each of the small and medium-sized enterprises participating in a single trade cycle to fund their respective trade facilities to issue and receive documentary credits makes cross-border trades across multiple jurisdictions unsustainable. The SAFE networked systems and methods provide small and medium-sized enterprises incorporated in multiple jurisdictions solutions to all of the above when executing a multilateral trade cycle.
