Presses.-In hydraulic and other presses especially for use in the manufacture of hats, the movable plate a, Figs. 1 and 2, is provided with lugs or brackets c, c<1>, c<2> with which a lever or handle b is adapted to engage, under the influence of spring means, the lever then engaging some fixed part of the press, such as a guide e, so that the movable plate is unable to fall.
