Description

Eye Therapy Device Many people like to carry brushes and lotions for treating, combing and maintaining their eyelashes with them, so that they may maintain their lashes at any time. Often, a person may use more than one type of brush or treatment for treating their eyelashes in different ways, and may therefore have to carry more than one type of eyelash brush in a bag or otherwise upon their person.
Typically a person may use may use one type of brush (often termed a "spoolie") for combing through lashes or lash extensions and then another type of brush (typically a softer brush) to clean the lashes. This lash cleaning brush may require fluid which can be a micellar type fluid or micellar water. This typically contains purified water and hydrating ingredients such as glycerine and it may also contain concentrations of a very mild surfactants, and is useful to help clean eyelashes or eyebrows and keep these in a healthy condition.
Thus, a user also will have to carry a bottle containing a suitable solution.
With the demand nowadays for many other items to be carried upon a person, such as a mobile phone, personal wallet, other beauty, sanitary and skin care products, and perhaps security devices, it is beneficial if the amount of beauty products is kept to a minimum.
The present invention arose in attempt to limit the amount of products that 25 are needed According to the present invention there is a provided an eye therapy device, comprising a hollow vessel, and a connector for attaching a first eyelash brush, wherein the first eyelash brush comprises a brush portion comprising one or more bristles, and a portion for receiving fluid, such that fluid may pass from the fluid receiving portion into the bristles for application by a user, wherein either when the first eyelash brush is attached to the vessel and/or when it is removed therefrom, fluid within the vessel may be applied to the fluid receiving part of the brush.
This provides a convenient way for carrying an eyelash brush and suitable fluid, in s one device Preferably the brush is attachable to the vessel by means of a screw threaded arrangement and comprises a brush portion comprising one or more bristles, and a hollow portion upon receiving fluid, whereby within the hollow portion can be manipulated into the brushes. Preferably, this is being squeezed so that its sides are squeezed in order to force fluid into the brushes where it is held before being applied to eyelashes, or other parts of the face or eyes.
Preferably the vessel is open at its part where the first eyelash brush is attached, such that fluid within the hollow vessel can flow into the eyelash brush, the eyelash brush being subsequently removable from the vessel, such that fluid within it is applied by bristles of the brush, to eyelashes or other parts of the face or skin of a user.
The brush may be attached to the vessel by a screw threaded arrangement.
Preferably, a lid is provided which, when the eye brushes are attached to the vessel protects the bristles, and when the brush is removed, it is to close the open part of the brush to avoid fluid being spilled.
Preferably, the vessel includes means for connecting, at a separate part, a second eyelash brush or comb. In one embodiment the vessel is generally cylindrical and a first eyelash brush is mounted at one end with the other brush mounted at the other end.
Thus a single device can be carried that includes two or more brushes and stores fluid.
The vessel may be generally elongate, eg cylindrical, and the first eyelash brush mounted at one end with the other eyelash brush mounted at the other end of the elongate vessel.
Lids may be provided over one or both brushes when one or more brushes are provided.
In some embodiments, at least one of the eyelash brushes is mounted 10 within a housing and the housing is attached to the vessel to attach the eyelash brush (indirectly) to the vessel. The housing may be connected by screw threads or otherwise and serves to protect and keep clean and hygienic the brush within it.
Embodiments of the invention will now be described, by way of example, 15 with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows an assemble eyelash therapy device; Figure 2 shows an eyelash cleaning brush; Figure 3 shows the device without brushes attached; Figure 4 shows an eyelash combing brush; Figure 5 shows an alternative embodiment.
Referring now to the drawings, Figure 1 shows an eyelash treatment device when assembled. Figures 2, 3 and 4 show the separate components.
The device comprises a hollow vessel 1 which is typically, but not necessarily, cylindrical. Connected to each end of this are two brushes. These comprise a first brush 2 and a lash comb (or eye lash extension comb) 3. This type of comb is sometimes termed "spoolie".
The brushes are connected at opposed ends of the cylindrical hollow vessel 1. Vessel 1 may typically be made of a plastics material.
The brushes may be connected to the vessel in many ways. The combing brush 3 may be connected by being provided with an internal screw thread at one end 4 (as shown in Figure 4) or being the end opposite to the end which holds its bristles 5. This could then simply screw onto a bottom segment provided at one end of the vessel 3 (as shown in Figure 3) which bears a cooperating thread. Alternatively the brush may have a threaded boss which locates within a threaded hole in the vessel.
In a further embodiment" and in order to use a conventional brush, the brush may be mounted within a removable housing or casing 7 (shown in Figure 1) which may be generally cylindrical and shaped to receive the brush 3 and is closed at one end 8. The other end of this is open and bears a screw thread 9 which cooperates with an external screw thread 10 at a respective end of the vessel 1. Thus, in order to remove and use the brush 3 the housing 7 is simply unscrewed and the brush removed from the housing for use. Instead of a screw thread connection the housing may be simply clipped into place or otherwise connected.
The brush 3 may need not be in fluid communication with the hollow part of vessel 1 and typically will not be so. That is, vessel 1 will be closed at end 11.
The other brush 2, which is typically a cleaning brush, is connected, in at least some embodiments, in such a way that it is in fluid communication with the hollow part of vessel 1 so that when any fluid, such as a micellar fluid, is contained within the vessel this can flow into, or be poured into, a handle portion of brush 2.
One embodiment is shown in Figure 2, where the brush 2 comprises a handle portion 12 which is generally hollow, and a brush portion 13 which comprises a plurality of bristles 14. Handle 12 is of a flexible, squeezable plastic material and bears a screw threaded portion 15 at its open which can connect to a screw threaded open portion 16 at the opposite end of vessel 1 to the end where brush 3 connects. Thus, fluid held within vessel 1 can flow into the handle portion 12.
The bristles can be a bundle of bristles which are simply attached in any convenient manner (eg by adhesive) to the handle portion. The bundle may be positioned abutting an end of the handle and adhesive applied to the bristles in the io bundle, or at least some of the bristles which are adjacent the material of the handle, to adhere them, and therefore the bundle, to the handle. The bristles can alternatively be formed as one unitary body preformed with a number of filaments or bristles which perhaps terminate in a single homogenous part of the bristle portion, for attachment to the handle. The brush may be formed by 3D printing or is otherwise.
Alternatively the whole brush itself may be formed, by moulding, 3D printing or otherwise, as one body, of a plastics material or otherwise, having one end formed to provide the bristles and the other end formed to provide separate zo bristles Any fluid in the handle portion will then be able to move to and into the bristles, However, the brush 2 may be connected in other ways to the vessel, and need not not be directly connected to the vessel. It can be indirectly attached. For example, In some embodiments it is provided within a housing 17 (similar to housing 7 which houses the brush 3) and this has one closed end and one open end such that the brush 3 is held within it and this is then mounted by screw threads or otherwise to end 16 of vessel 1. Fluid can then pass between the housing and the vessel and thus into the handle 12 or the whole of the brush 2. A separate lid 18 may be provided if required. Which can close the open end of brush 2 when this is removed, in order to avoid spillage of fluid held within it. This may be affixed over the closed end of the housing when this is attached to the vessel, to avoid its being lost or mislaid.
The handle part at least of brush 2 is of a plastic or another material which is resiliently squeezable. Thus, by squeezing this fluid can cause the fluid to flow into the brush part 13 and held within the bristles thereof in order that the fluid can then be applied to the lashes or other part of the skin or face of a user.
Instead of being hollow, handle part 12 may be of a foam material which receives fluid and which, when squeezed, then causes some of the fluid to be applied to the brush part 13. Other squeezable arrangements will be apparent.
Thus, in use, a user firstly fills, or partly fills vessel 1 with fluid by simply turning it on its end and pouring a suitable fluid or solution, such as a micellar fluid, into the hollow part of the vessel 1. Brush 2 is then applied directly to the opening through which the fluid was applied, or applied indirectly by being mounted within a housing, such as housing 17, which is then connected to the open end of the vessel such that there is fluid communication between the hollow part of vessel 1 and the handle part 12 of the brush. This brush can then be removed when a user needs to use it. This may be done by, for example, by holding the assembly in a generally vertical disposition (or at least a disposition in which end 16 is higher than end 11) and removing (by unscrewing or otherwise) brush 2, pouring some solution from vessel 1 into the handle 12 of the brush 2 and then squeezing the handle to apply fluid to the bristles of the brush and applying the fluid using the brush to the lashes or other parts of a user.
The combing brush 3 may also be similarly removed and used for appropriate lash treatment.
Thus, an eyelash treatment device is shown which, when filled with fluid and assembled, is a single device which is easily carried without loss of any constituent parts thereof, in a handbag or otherwise by a user, and can be disassembled for use whenever required.
Figure 5 shows a modification in which the vessel 1 has an opening 20 provided at some part of its surface, which is preferably closable by a lid 21, such that micellar fluid or other fluids or solutions may be poured into the vessel through this opening. This may therefore conveniently be done whilst the brushes are in place. The lid 21 is preferably secured to the body by a hinge or tab 22 such that it cannot be lost. A lid may be formed integrally with the vessel by making the vessel, cutting most of the shape of the opening, leaving a strip in place to form a hinge, and then folding the cut out shape back, about the hinge part that is uncut, to form the lid.
