Abstract
A martial arts kimono component of a kimono(800) having a jacket(810) and trouser(820) and for the wearing thereof of a user(801), wherein said kimono component is formed for compliance with one or more pre-determined articulations of the limbs of a user(801).
Claims (37)
1. A martial arts kimono component of a kimono having a jacket and trouser an d for the wearing thereof of a user, wherein said kimono component is formed for compliance with one or more pr e-determined articulations of the limbs of a user.
2. A kimono component according to claim 1, wherein the cut and shape of the kimono provides for compliance with said one or more pre-determined articulations of the limbs of a user.
3. A kimono component according to claim 2, wherein the cut and the shape of the kimono component is provided so as t o increase conformity of the kimono component with a limb of a user during articulation of the limbs.
4. A kimono component according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the cut and the shape of the kimono component is in at least two dimensions (2D) .
5. A kimono component according to claim 2 or claim 3, wherein the cut and the shape of the kimono component is in three dimensi ons (3D) .
6. A kimono component according to any one of claims 2 to 5, wherein the kimono component is a kimono jacket including sleeves.
7. A kimono component according to any one of claims 2 to 5, wherein the kimono component is a kimono trouser including leg portions, wherein each leg portion has an upper portion and a lower portion.
8. A kimono component according to claim 6, wherein the kimono jacket is cut and shaped such that the sleeves of the kimono jacket have a non-linear central axis on one or more planes.
9. A kimono component according to claim 6 or claim 8, wherein the kimono is cut and shaped such that the central axis of the sl eeves is comprised of two or more linear axes with an angle therebetween.
10. A kimono component according to claim 6 or claim 8, wherein the kimono is cut and shaped such that the central axis of the sl eeve of the kimono jacket is curved in one or more planes.
11. A kimono component according to any one of claims 6, or 8 to 10, wherein the kimono jacket is cut and shaped such that central axis of the sleeve of the kimono jacket in the frontal plane extends in downward dire ction in the lateral outward direction.
12. A kimono component according to any one of claims 6, or 8 to 11, wherein the kimono jacket is cut and shaped such that the central axis of the sleeve of the kimono jacket further extends in a direction forward in the sagittal plane.
13. A kimono component according to claim 7, wherein the kimono trouser is cut and shaped such that the leg portions o f the kimono trouser have a non-linear central axis in one or more planes.
14. A kimono component according to claim 7 or claim 13, wherein the kimono trouser is cut and shaped such that the central axis o f the leg portions is comprised of two or more linear axes with an angle t herebetween.
15. A kimono component according to claim 7 or claim 13, wherein the kimono trouser is cut and shaped such that the central axis o f the leg portions of the kimono trouser is curved in one or more planes.
16. A kimono component according to any one of claims 7 or 13 to 15, wherein the kimono trouser is cut and shaped such that central axis of th e upper leg portion of the leg portions of the kimono extend at least laterally outward in the fr ontal plane in the downward direction.
17. A kimono component according to claim 7, 13 or 16, wherein the kimono trouser is cut and shaped such that central axis of th e lower leg portion of the leg portions of the kimono extend at least late rally inward in the frontal plane in the downward direction.
18. A kimono component according to any one of claims 7, or 13 to 17, wherein the kimono trouser is cut and shaped such that central axis of th e upper leg portion of the leg portions of the kimono extend at least forw ardly in the sagittal plane in the downward direction.
19. A kimono component according to claim 19, wherein the kimono trouser is cut and shaped such that central axis of th e lower leg portion of the leg portions of the kimono extend at least rear wardly in the sagittal plane in the downward direction.
20. A kimono component according to any one of claims 2 to 19, wherein the kimono component includes an articulation portion adjacent th e articulation position of the limb of the user so as to allow for ease of articulation of the limb of the user.
21. A kimono component according to claim 20, wherein the articulation portion is provided by a plurality of pleats or darts.
22. A kimono component according to claim 21, wherein the plurality of pleats or darts is formed from a fabric material .
23. A kimono component according to claim 21 or claim 22, wherein the plurality of pleats or darts and the kimono jacket are formed from the same fabric material.
24. A kimono component according to claim 1, wherein the kimono component is a kimono jacket.
25. A kimono component according to claim 1, wherein the kimono component is kimono trousers.
26. A kimono component according to claim 1, wherein the kimono component is a kimono jacket and the kimono jacket inc ludes an articulation portion adjacent the elbow of the user so as to allo w for ease of articulation of the arm of the user in two or more dimension s.
27. A kimono component according to claim 26, wherein the articulation portion is provided by a plurality of pleats or darts.
28. A kimono component according to claim 27, wherein the plurality of pleats or darts is formed from a fabric material .
29. A kimono component according to claim 26 or claim 27, wherein the plurality of pleats or darts and the kimono jacket are formed from the same fabric material.
30. A kimono component according to claim 1, wherein the kimono component is a kimono trousers, and the kimono trousers includes an articulation portion adjacent the kne e of the user so as to allow for ease of articulation of the leg of the us er in two or more dimensions.
31. A kimono component according to claim 30, wherein the articulation portion is provided by a plurality of pleats or darts.
32. A kimono component according to claim 31, wherein the plurality of pleats or darts is formed from a fabric material .
33. A kimono component according to claim 31 or claim 32, wherein the plurality of pleats or darts and the kimono trouser are forme d from the same fabric material.
34. A kimono component according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the kimono component is formed from a material selected from the group including one or more of cotton, canvas, polyester, spandex, ballistic nylon, nylon, elastic, elastane fiber, rubber,

A kimono component according to anyone of the preceding claims, wherein said kimono contains one or more anti-grip reinforced panels whic h pop-off or release from the grip of an opponent grabbing the kimono, wherein the kimono comprises: a kimono jacket that is formed from a first material; the kimono jacket including right sleeve and right body portions; the kimono further including left sleeve and left body portions and a coll ar; the collar extending upwardly from upper ends of each of the left and rig ht sleeves; the right body portion includes an inner flap and the left body portion i ncludes an outer flap; each body portion includes a lapel which is contiguous with the collar; the lapels extending downwardly from the collar toward the bottom of the k imono jacket; wherein the lapel and inner flap of the right body portion extends under t he lapel of the left body portion toward a left side of the wearer of the kimono jacket and the lapel and the outer flap of the left body portion ex tends over the inner flap of the right body portion and extends toward a r ight side of the wearer of the kimono jacket; and the lapels and body portions are configured to be kept in place by a m artial arts belt; one or more anti-grip reinforcement panels affixed to an inside surface of the interior of the kimono; and wherein the one or more anti-grip reinforcement panels being of a second m aterial which is different material than the first material forming the ki mono jacket, the one or more reinforcement panels providing a sufficient popping-off t actile sensation or release of grip of an opponent grabbing the reinforced anti-grip martial a rts kimono during the practice of martial arts.
36. A kimono component according to claim 35, wherein the one or more reinforcement panels being located on the inside of the kimono form an at least partial annular-shaped anti-grip reinforcem ent panels and the at least two reinforced panels are affixed to the insid e of the sleeves of the reinforced anti-grip martial arts kimono jacket, adjacent to the cuffs of the each of the sleeves;
37. A kimono component according to claim 36, wherein the second material adjacent to the cuff of each of the left and right sleeves extends from the cuff upwardly toward the collar of the anti -grip martial arts kimono jacket.
