Abstract
There is described an enclosure comprising a shell formed of at least first, second and third wall members each having a base and a top portion. The first, second and third wall members each comprise a curved portion. The curved portion of the first wall member is operable to rotate from a first position to a second position. In the second position the curved portion of the first wall member overlaps the curved portion of the third wall member to a greater extent than in the first position. The curved portion of the second wall member is operable to rotate from a first position to a second position. In the second position the curved portion of the second wall member overlaps the curved portion of the third or second wall member to a greater extent than in the first position. The enclosure can be used to provide flexible dining conditions.
Claims (15)
1 . An enclosure comprising a shell formed of at least first, second and third wall members each having a base and a top portion, wherein the first, second and third wall members each comprise a curved portion, and wherein the curved portion of the first wall member is operable to rotate from a first position to a second position, wherein in the second position the curved portion of the first wall member overlaps the curved portion of the third wall member to a greater extent than in the first position, and wherein the curved portion of the second wall member is operable to rotate from a first position to a second position, wherein in the second position the curved portion of the second wall member overlaps the curved portion of the third or second wall member to a greater extent than in the first position.
2. An enclosure according to claim 1 , the enclosure further comprising a base on which the shell is arranged.
3. An enclosure according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the shell is in the form of a dome.
4. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the width of the base of the first wall member is greater than the width of the base of the second wall member, preferably the ratio of the width of the base of the first wall member to the width of the base of the second wall member is at least 2:1 , more preferably at least 5:2, most preferably at least 3:1 .
5. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the width of the base of the third wall member is greater than the width of the base of the first wall member, preferably the ratio of the width of the base of the third wall member to the width of the base of the first wall members is at least 4:3.
6. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the first and second wall members are operable to be rotated such as to be substantially completely overlapping with the third wall member.
7. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the second wall member forms at least substantially half of the width of the base of the shell, suitably at least substantially half of the circumference of the base of the domed shell.
8. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the third wall member comprises substantially diametrically opposed ribs joined, directly or indirectly, at the top of the third wall member, preferably to form an arch extending from one side of the shell to the other.
9. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the first, second and/or third wall member comprise at least two spaced ribs, each rib having a top and a bottom end, the respective first, second and/or third wall members further comprising one or more base rails 2 extending between the ribs of the wall member, wherein the base rails of the first, second and/or third wall members comprise an inwardly curved face.
10. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the top of the third wall member comprises an attachment member and the top of the first and second wall members comprise cooperating attachment members, such that the first and second wall members are operable to be arranged in connection with the attachment member of the third wall member and be rotated about it.
1 1 . An enclosure according to claim 10, wherein the attachment member of the third wall member is attached adjacent to, suitably immediately adjacent to or on, the apex of the arch of the third wall member extending from one side of the base to the other.
12. An enclosure according to any of claims 2 to 1 1 , wherein the third wall member is attached to the base.
13. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the enclosure comprises a sealing member operable to seal between the first and third wall members, suitably in the first position, the enclosure further comprising a sealing member operable to seal between the second and third wall members, suitably in the first position, preferably the sealing member be in the form of a flange extending between and abutting the first/second wall member and the third wall member.
14. An enclosure according to any preceding claim, wherein the shell comprises sealing members arranged on the first wall member and the second wall member, wherein the sealing member of the first wall member is operable to abut and form a seal with a first part of the third wall member and the sealing member of the second wall member is operable to abut and form a seal with a second part of the third wall member such as to substantially seal the gap between the first wall member and the third wall member and the gap between the second wall member and the third wall member.
15. An enclosure according to claim 14, wherein the first and second wall members are operable to rotate around the second wall member, suitably such that the sealing member of the first wall member is operable to abut and form a seal with the said second part of the third wall member and the sealing member of the second wall member is operable to abut and form a seal with the said first part of the third wall member.
