Abstract

A structure for assembling a faucet to a work surface, the structure comprising a locking inner core 1, a fixing core 2 and a base 3. The locking core 1 is a tubular component threaded externally and fixed to the faucet 10 with a lower portion of the locking inner core threadedly connected inside the fixing core 2. The fixing core 2 has at least two resilient pieces 22 from which a projection 23 on each extends. The base 3 comprises an apertured sleeve wherein the projections 23 on the resilient pieces extend through the apertures 31of the base 3.

Description

A STRUCTURE ENABLING QUICK ASSEMBLY BETWEEN A FAUCET AND A
PLATFORM
The present invention relates to the technical field of faucets, and more specifically relates to a structure enabling quick assembly between a faucet and a platform.
Nowadays, a structure adapted for installing a faucet usually achieves installation of the faucet from below an installation surface (installation surface means a platform of for example a bathroom sink or basin allowing installation of the faucet). Specifically, when installing a faucet onto a bathroom or kitchen sink, a C shape retainer or a nut must be used below the platform so as to fix and install the faucet from below the platform. Since the clamping member of the structure is provided at a bottom portion of the faucet, portion of the faucet above the platform must be fixed during installation, and then the fixing nut that fixes the faucet to the platform will be adjusted to clamp or loosen the faucet. Since the fixing nut is provided below the platform, while the installation space inside a cabinet or below a bathroom sink is usually small and dim, the installation space does not visually facilitates the installation, thereby requiring much time and effort for installation. Besides, if the faucet is loosened after installation, maintenance works for tightening the faucet again will be very difficult and consume time and effort, and as a result, the installation efficiency is low.
An object of the present invention is to provide a structure enabling quick assembly between a faucet and a platform.
The technical solutions provided by the present invention are detailed as follows: A structure enabling quick assembly between a faucet and a platform; the structure comprises a locking inner core, a fixing core and a base; an upper portion of the fixing core is a circular sleeve tube; a lower portion of the fixing core is formed by more than two resilient pieces; the resilient pieces extend downwardly from a bottom surface of the circular sleeve tube; an outer side wall of each of the resilient pieces is provided with a projection; inner threads are provided on both an inner side wall of the circular sleeve tube and an inner side wall of each of the resilient pieces; the base is a tubular component; an outer side wall of a lower portion of the base is opened with more than two windows; a quantity of the windows is the same as a quantity of the resilient pieces of the fixing core; the locking inner core is a tubular component; an outer side wall of the locking inner core is provided with outer threads; an upper end of the locking inner core is fixedly connected with the faucet; a lower portion of the locking inner core is threadedly connected inside the fixing core; the base sleeves the lower portion of the fixing core; the resilient pieces of the fixing core protrude out of the windows of the base respectively.
A top portion of the locking inner core is provided with a circular locking ring; a side wall of the locking ring is provided with two pairs of screw holes so that tightening screws are inserted therein to fix the locking inner core and the faucet together.
A top portion of the base has a circular sleeve ring; more than two openings are provided at a side wall of the sleeve ring.
The locking inner core and the faucet form a one whole piece.
The structure of the present invention also comprises tightening bolts, locking studs and ratchet springs; a top portion of the locking inner core is provided with a ratchet gear; the ratchet gear is fixed with the faucet via the tightening bolts, the locking studs and the ratchet springs.
The ratchet gear at the top portion of the locking inner core has an upper layer and a lower layer; the upper layer is provided with upper ratchet teeth, the lower layer is provided with lower ratchet teeth; the upper ratchet teeth and the lower ratchet teeth point at opposite directions; an upper opening trough is provided between each pair of upper ratchet teeth of the upper layer; a lower opening trough is provided between each pair of lower ratchet teeth of the lower layer; each of the upper ratchet teeth partially cover a top side of a corresponding lower opening trough of a corresponding pair of lower ratchet teeth, thereby forming a locking slot that locks a corresponding locking stud; each of the tightening bolts passes through a corresponding fixation hole of the faucet, and then abuts against a corresponding ratchet spring and a corresponding locking stud sequentially, so that the corresponding locking stud is locked at a corresponding locking slot on the locking inner core, to fix the locking inner core and the faucet together.
The projection provided on the outer side wall of each of the resilient pieces has an upward slanted surface and a downward slanted surface respectively along a projecting direction of the projection.
According to the above technical solutions, the structure of the present invention is provided above the platform and thus it is no longer required for a user to access a cramped space to install the faucet, on the other hand, installation is enabled by visual clearness and sufficient brightness. Due to large operating space and high visibility, installation is quick and simple. Since the faucet is installed from above the platform, installation is not hindered by cramped space, thereby enabling more secured and reliable installation, where the user can perform the installation comfortably and conveniently. Therefore, the present invention facilitates highly effective installation, and possesses a simple and economical structure that promotes industrial production and popularization of the product in the market.
The present invention will be further described in detail below with reference to the drawings and some embodiments.

FIGs. 1-6 illustrate a first embodiment of the structure of the present invention, comprising a locking inner core 1, a fixing core 2 and a base 3.
An upper portion of the fixing core 2 is a circular sleeve tube 21; a lower portion of the fixing core 2 is formed by four resilient pieces 22; the resilient pieces 22 extend downwardly from a bottom surface of the circular sleeve tube 21; an outer side wall of each of the resilient pieces 22 is provided with a projection 23 having an upward slanted surface and a downward slanted surface respectively along a projecting direction of the projection, thereby form a wedge; inner threads are provided on both an inner side wall of the circular sleeve tube 21 and an inner side wall of the resilient pieces 22.
The base 3 is a tubular component; an outer side wall of a lower portion of the base 3 is opened with four windows 31; a quantity of the windows is the same as a quantity of the resilient pieces 22 of the fixing core 2. A top portion of the base 3 has a circular sleeve ring 32; four openings 33 are provide at a side wall of the sleeve ring 32.
The locking inner core 1 is a tubular component 1; an outer side wall of the locking inner core is provided with outer threads; a top portion of the locking inner core 1 is provided with a circular locking ring 11; a side wall of the locking ring 11 is provided with two pairs of screw holes 12 so that tightening screws 4 can be inserted to fix the locking inner core 1 and a faucet 10 together. An upper end of the locking inner core 1 is fixedly connected with the faucet 10; a lower portion of the locking inner core 1 is threadedly connected inside the fixing core 2; the base 3 sleeves the lower portion of the fixing core 2; the four resilient pieces 22 of the fixing core 2 protrude out of the four windows 31 of the base 3 respectively.
A method of installing the present invention: Inserting the inner core 2 into the base 3, wherein the base 3 is provided with four windows 31 on a side wall thereof and a circular sleeve ring 32 on a top portion thereof, and the four resilient pieces 22 of the fixing core 2 are resilient in nature and are compressible, and the four resilient pieces 22 are installed in correspondence to the four windows 31 of the base 3 after the fixing core 2 is inserted into the base 3; screwing the locking inner core 1 into the fixing core 2 until the locking inner core 1 reach upper ends of gaps between the resilient pieces 22; the locking inner core 1, the fixing core 2 and the base 3 are thus assembled to form an integral structure.
During installation, since the locking inner core 1 is screwed into the fixing core 2 until the locking inner core 1 reach the upper ends of the gaps between the resilient pieces 22, and the four resilient pieces 22 of the fixing core 2 are resilient and compressible, after the integral structure of the present invention is inserted from above a platform 20 into an installation hole of the faucet on the platform, continue to screw the locking inner core 1 clockwise for tightening purpose; as the locking inner core 1 continues to be screwed, the fixing core 2 is driven upward. Since the outer side of the fixing core 2 comprises wedges defined by the projections, a clamping force of the wedges of the fixing core 2 against the platform 20 will increase as the locking inner core 1 continues to be screwed. Further, as the locking inner core 1 will eventually be screwed into the fixing core 2 till the lower portions of the resilient pieces 22, there is no sufficient space provided at inner sides of the four resilient pieces 22 for deformation of the four resilient pieces 22, thereby securely fixing a base of the faucet on the platform 20. To disassemble, screw the locking inner core 1 anti-clockwise for loosening purpose until the locking inner core 1 returns back to the opening portion of the fixing core 2 from which the locking inner core 1 is screwed in, and the four resilient pieces 22 of the fixing core 2 can be compressed inwardly due to their resilience, such that the structure of the present invention can be conveniently removed from the platform 20.
As shown in FIG. 6, the base of the faucet 10 is provided with a positioning limiting component which is an indentation 101 of a trapezoid shape. After the structure of the present invention is fixed, the faucet 10 is positioned on an upper surface of a flange of the locking inner core 1, and then the tightening screws 4 pass through the screw holes 12 on the side wall of the locking inner core 1 and abut against the indentation 101 so that the faucet 10 and the locking inner core 1 are fixed together; after the faucet 10 and the locking inner core 1 are fixed together, an ornamental ring slides to a lower portion of the faucet to cover the structure of the present invention to complete the entire installation.
FIG. 7 shows a second embodiment of the structure of the present invention, also comprising a locking inner core 1A, a fixing core 2A and a base 3A. The technical features of the second embodiment are substantially the same as the first embodiment, except that the locking inner core 1A and a faucet 10A of the current embodiment form a one whole piece.
A method of installation of the second embodiment of the present invention: Integrating the locking inner core 1A onto the faucet 10A during installation, screwing the base 3A anti-clockwise for tightening purpose, such that the base 3A drives the fixing core 2A to clamp against the platform with the faucet 10A in order to fix the faucet onto the platform, and then sliding an ornamental ring down to a lower portion of the faucet to cover the structure of the present invention to complete the installation. To dissemble, screwing the base 3A clockwise and rotating the faucet 10A anticlockwise simultaneously to loosen the structure of the present invention, and then removing the faucet.
FIGs. 8-14 show a third embodiment of the structure of the present invention, comprising a locking inner core 1 B, a fixing core 2B, a base 3B, tightening bolts 4B, locking studs 5B and ratchet springs 6B.
A top portion of the locking inner core 1B is provided with a ratchet gear which has an upper layer 11 B and a lower layer 12B; the upper layer 11B is provided with upper ratchet teeth 111 B, the lower layer 12B is provided with lower ratchet teeth 121 B; the upper ratchet teeth 111B and the lower ratchet teeth 121B point at opposite directions; an upper opening trough 112B is provided between each pair of upper ratchet teeth 111 B of the upper layer 11 B; a lower opening trough 122B is provided between each pair of lower ratchet teeth 121 B of the lower layer 12B; each of the upper ratchet teeth 111 B partially cover a top side of a corresponding lower opening trough 122B of a corresponding pair lower ratchet teeth 121B, thereby forming a locking slot 123B that locks a corresponding locking stud 5B.
Each of the tightening bolts 4B passes through a corresponding fixation hole 101 B of a faucet 10B, and then abuts against a corresponding ratchet spring 6B and a corresponding locking stud 5B sequentially, so that the corresponding locking stud 5B is locked at the corresponding locking slot 123B on the locking inner core 1 B, to fix the locking inner core 1B and the faucet 10B together.
A method of installation of the third embodiment of the present invention: Processing a part of the locking inner core 1B that connects with the faucet 10B as the ratchet gear which has the upper layer 11 B and the lower layer 12B, with the ratchet teeth in the upper layer 11 B and the lower layer 12B pointing at opposite directions (as shown in FIG. 8). Four locking studs 5B are provided evenly around the faucet 10B. During installation, press a bottom side of the faucet 10B on an upper planar surface of the base 3B, use a clamp to fix the base 3B so that the base is not movable, then rotate the faucet 10B clockwise until there is no room for further rotation, then rotate the faucet 10B anti-clockwise back to a starting position from where the faucet 10B is rotated clockwise again. Repeat the above rotations of the faucet 10B several times to lock the faucet 10B tightly. Adjust a position of a nozzle, and then lock the four tightening bolts 4B at the four locking studs 5B tightly, wherein the tightening bolts 4B will press the locking studs 5B tightly against the two layers 11 B, 12B of the ratchet gear so as to fix the faucet 10B; slide an ornamental ring to a lower portion of the faucet to cover the structure of the present invention to complete the entire installation. To disassemble, loosen the tightening bolts 4B, rotate the faucet 10B anti-clockwise so that the locking studs 5B can be removed away from the locking slots 123B, and hence the locking inner core 1B can be loosened. Repeat the procedures several times such that the locking inner core 1B is completely loosened, and then the faucet 10B can be separated from the base 3B, and the structure of the present invention can be removed from the platform 20B, thereby completing the disassembling procedures.
The above description illustrates only the more preferred embodiments of the present invention. The above description is not intended to limit the scope of implementation of the present invention. All other changes and modifications made in accordance with the scope of the invention and the teachings of the description that achieve the same technical effects should also fall within the scope of the present invention.

Claims (7)

  1. CLAIMS1. A structure for assembling a faucet and a platform, comprising a locking inner core, a fixing core and a base; an upper portion of the fixing core is a circular sleeve tube; a lower portion of the fixing core is formed by more than two resilient pieces; the resilient pieces extend downwardly from a bottom surface of the circular sleeve tube; an outer side wall of each of the resilient pieces is provided with a projection; inner threads are provided on both an inner side wall of the circular sleeve tube and an inner side wall of each of the resilient pieces; the base is a tubular component; an outer side wall of a lower portion of the base is opened with more than two windows; a quantity of the windows is the same as a quantity of the resilient pieces of the fixing core; the locking inner core is a tubular component; an outer side wall of the locking inner core is provided with outer threads; an upper end of the locking inner core is fixedly connected with the faucet; a lower portion of the locking inner core is threadedly connected inside the fixing core; the base sleeves the lower portion of the fixing core; the resilient pieces of the fixing core protrude out of the windows of the base respectively.
  2. 2. The structure according to claim 1, wherein a top portion of the locking inner core is provided with a circular locking ring; a side wall of the locking ring is provided with two pairs of screw holes so that tightening screws are inserted therein to fix the locking inner core and the faucet together.
  3. 3. The structure according to claim 1, a top portion of the base has a circular sleeve ring; more than two openings are provided at a side wall of the sleeve ring.
  4. 4. The structure according to claim 1, the locking inner core and the faucet form a one whole piece.
  5. 5. The structure according to claim 1, also comprising tightening bolts, locking studs and ratchet springs; a top portion of the locking inner core is provided with a ratchet gear; the ratchet gear is fixed with the faucet via the tightening bolts, the locking studs and the ratchet springs.
  6. 6. The structure according to claim 5, wherein the ratchet gear at the top portion of the locking inner core has an upper layer and a lower layer; the upper layer is provided with upper ratchet teeth, the lower layer is provided with lower ratchet teeth; the upper ratchet teeth and the lower ratchet teeth point at opposite directions; an upper opening trough is provided between each pair of upper ratchet teeth of the upper layer; a lower opening trough is provided between each pair of lower ratchet teeth of the lower layer; each of the upper ratchet teeth partially cover a top side of a corresponding lower opening trough of a corresponding pair of lower ratchet teeth, thereby forming a locking slot that locks a corresponding locking stud; each of the tightening bolts passes through a corresponding fixation hole of the faucet, and then abuts against a corresponding ratchet spring and a corresponding locking stud sequentially, so that the corresponding locking stud is locked at a corresponding locking slot on the locking inner core, to fix the locking inner core and the faucet together.
  7. 7. The structure according to claim 1, wherein the projection provided on the outer side wall of each of the resilient pieces has an upward slanted surface and a downward slanted surface respectively along a projecting direction of the projection.
