Abstract
An electric water heater for domestic hot water or central heating comprises two hot water exchange units, pods 1 and 2, which are stainless steel capped cylinders incorporating tubular inserts. Heat is obtained from stainless steel electrodes that each provide 300W of power which are placed into the tubular insert. Each pod is serviced by a standard domestic water pump. The electrodes have direct contact with the flowing water to be heated, but are not immersed in the water.
Description
Ref: Descriptions
Products: Hot Water & Heating System Product Name: Bur-Bax-10 Bur-Bax-10 is a low power high energy hot water exchange system that I have invented and designed. Power is generated from the use of a mains transformer that provides 24 volt output with variable wattage range from 600 to 2200 watts.
The system comprises of two hot water exchange units (called pods I and 2) no 1 for heating no 2 for hot water.
The heat exchange unit pods are 255mm x 100mm stainless steel capped cylinders with 15nun inlet and outlet flow pipes incorporating 230mm x 12mm tubular inserts 9 in total.
Pod 1 for central heating Pod 2 for hot water. Heat is obtained with the use of heating electrodes that are constructed out of stainless steel and produce a wattage 300 watt each. These are inserted into the tubular insert that can be added or subtracted dependant on required heat.
Testing has proven that 5 elements providing 1500 watts is a sufficient power supply for a domestic central heating system. After reaching the temperature can then be regulated to a lower value output but maintain required temperature. The Pod 2 for hot water produces sufficient power to heat a domestic water cylinder in a time similar to a conventional boiler and with the use of the flow agitator situated in the cylinder uses less power but is able to provide sufficient energy to the cylinder for hot water. Again on reaching required temperature of 60 degrees centigrade power can be regulated to a lower value and maintain temperature.
Both Pods 1 and 2 are serviced by standard domestic water pump, that is the only mechanical working element of the system.
The construction and development of the Pods has provided the opportunity to derive a safe environmental low powered supply of 24v to operate heating electrodes that have direct contact with flowing water without actually being immersed (i.e. like an immersion). Inserted into tube inserts that are assembled in a formation and built into the calculated tube stainless steel cylinder that forms into an efficient Pod heat exchange unit.
The system has been designed to be eco-friendly, safe (no gases) easy to install (without the issue of conventional boiler problems and maintenance) and overall monetary savings.
I have introduced into a standard conventional domestic cylinder of (22 gallons/100 litres) a return flow direction agitator that stimulates the water into a faster concentrated integration of hot and cold water that produces a far better operational balance outcome.
At present the system is designed for domestic use but the appropriate adjustments can be formulated to a commercial/industrial use.
