Description
ROTARY QUICK-RELEASE HINGE AND TOILET SEAT HAVING THE HINGE
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a mounting hinge between a toilet seat and a ceramic toilet bowl, and more particularly to a rotary quick-release hinge and a toilet seat having the hinge.
2. Description of the Prior Art
European Patent (EP1199020B1) discloses a toilet seat hinge, comprising a rotating shaft consisting of a fixing shaft and a buffer that are coaxially connected. The rotating shaft is pivotally connected to a toilet seat shaft sleeve for pivoting the toilet seat. The toilet seat hinge further includes a support seat with an upright insertion pin. The support seat is fixed to a ceramic bowl. The fixing shaft is provided with a blind hole in the radial direction. The insertion pin is inserted into the blind hole, and the rotating shaft is sleeved on the upper part of the insertion pin. Therefore, the insertion pin bears the downward pressure of the toilet seat carried by the rotating shaft and the torsion of rotating the buffer. This toilet seat hinge has the following problems: (1) It is not easy to assemble and disassemble the toilet seat hinge. The insertion pin and the blind hole are mounted by interference fit, resulting in inconvenient installation or disassembly of the toilet seat on the ceramic toilet bowl. (2) The pressure-bearing and torque of the insertion pin are insufficient: When a user sits on the toilet seat, the pressure of the entire toilet seat rests on the small area of the top surface of the insertion pin. If the bottom wall of the blind hole is too thin, it is to be easily penetrated by the insertion pin. If the blind hole becomes shallow and the bottom wall of the blind hole is thick, the blind hole of the rotating shaft is fitted on the insertion pin at a higher position (the installation height of the rotating shaft on the insertion pin is equivalent to the torque arm of the support seat), that is, the installation height of the toilet seat on the support seat is increased. The torsional moment of the connection between the insertion pin and the support seat is greatly increased, and the longitudinal connection strength between the rotating shaft and the support seat is not strong enough. The connection between the insertion pin and the support seat may not be able to withstand the pressure to be damaged.
The main means of Chinese Patent No. (CN103908186A) to solve the above two problems is described below.
1. A fixing shaft used for pivoting a toilet seat is axially or radially mounted with a i
locking buckle to lock and unlock an insertion pin, so that the toilet seat can be assembled and disassembled easily. One end of the fixing shaft, not having a buffer, is axially provided with the locking buckle. (The buffer and the locking buckle are installed at both ends of the fixing shaft, respectively.) That is, the locking buckle and the buffer are not at the same side of the fixing shaft on the insertion pin. This structure not only increases the installation space of the entire rotating shaft but also limits the flexibility of the assembly of the rotating shaft having the locking buckle and the toilet seat shaft sleeve. It is necessary to disassemble the rotating shaft to be inserted into the shaft sleeve in a step-by-step manner, so the assembly becomes difficult.
2. A raised ring extends upwardly from the support seat to wrap the lower part of the insertion pin. The raised ring holds against the rotating shaft. Although it partially solves the problem that the pressure-bearing of the insertion pin is insufficient, the fulcrum of the torque is still at the upper part of the insertion pin. The problem of insufficient torque is still not solved.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a rotary quick-release hinge and a toilet seat having the hinge. The hinge is assembled and disassembled by turning the toilet seat to a predetermined angle, so that the toilet seat can be assembled to and disassembled from a ceramic toilet bowl easily and conveniently. The end face of a support seat completely bears the pressure of the toilet seat. The torsion generated by turning the toilet seat down slowly is jointly supported by the support seat and an insertion pin on the support seat. The longitudinal connection strength between the rotating shaft and the support seat is greater. The assembly of the present invention and the upper cover shaft sleeve can be more flexible and convenient.
According to one aspect of the present invention, a rotary quick-release hinge is provided. The rotary quick-release hinge comprises a support seat and a rotating shaft. The support seat is fixed to a ceramic toilet bowl and provided with an insertion pin. The rotating shaft is composed of a fixing shaft and a buffer that are coaxially connected for pivoting a toilet seat. A bottom of the fixing shaft is provided with an upright post. The upright post has a pin hole extending from a bottom of the upright post into the fixing shaft. The insertion pin has a height less than a depth of the pin hole. When the insertion pin is fully inserted into the pin hole to be positioned, the upright post is pressed against the support seat. The rotating shaft further includes a locking device disposed on the fixing shaft and located between the buffer and the pin hole. The locking device is configured to lock the insertion pin and linked with the toilet seat. When the toilet seat is turned to a predetermined angle, the locking device is disengaged from a locking groove provided on the insertion pin so that the insertion pin can be pulled out from the pin hole.
Preferably, the fixing shaft is axially provided with a reduced shaft. The reduced shaft has a stepped hole extending from an outer end of the reduced shaft to the pin hole and communicating with the pin hole. A buffer shaft of the buffer is inserted and fixed to the stepped hole. The locking device is mounted between the reduced shaft and the pin hole. This design does not increase the installation space of the rotating shaft on the toilet seat, and the rotating shaft can lock and unlock the insertion pin, and the installation of the rotating shaft on the toilet seat can be more convenient and quick.
Preferably, the junction of the fixing shaft and the reduced shaft is axially provided with a slotted hole intersecting with the stepped hole. The locking device includes a spring installed in the stepped hole, a locking piece that abuts against the spring and can be moved in and out of the pin hole, a cylindrical post that is inserted in the slotted hole and connected to a rear end of the locking piece, and a locking ring that is rotatedly connected to the reduced shaft. An edge of the locking ring is provided with a curved groove. When the toilet seat drives the locking ring to rotate, the cylindrical post is pressed against one end of the slotted hole by the edge of the locking ring, and a front end of the locking piece is pushed into the pin hole and engaged with the locking groove of the insertion pin. When the locking ring is rotated for the curved groove to give way to the cylindrical post, the cylindrical post is moved to another end of the slotted hole and engaged into the curved groove, and the spring pushes the locking piece so that the front end of the locking piece is moved out of the locking groove and the pin hole to unlock the insertion pin. The locking device of the present invention cleverly uses the hole extending to the pin hole for insertion of the buffer and the installation of the spring and the locking piece. The fixing shaft is provided with the slotted hole for mounting the cylindrical post connected to the rear end of the locking piece. The cylindrical post is controlled to move in the slotted hole for actuating the front end of the locking piece to be in and out of the pin hole, so as to lock and unlock the insertion pin in the pin hole. The locking device and the buffer of the present invention are arranged at the same side of the pin hole of the fixing shaft, which does not increase the length of the rotating shaft. That is, the installation space of the rotating shaft in the toilet seat shaft sleeve will not be increased, and its installation with the toilet seat will be more flexible and convenient.
Preferably, an outer surface of the locking ring has a protrusion. The lock ring is linked with the toilet seat via the protrusion. When the toilet seat is turned, the protrusion synchronously drives the locking ring to rotate. When the curved groove of the locking ring is rotated to align with the cylindrical post in the axial direction of the fixing shaft, the curved groove gives way to the cylindrical post. The spring activates the locking piece and the cylindrical post to move. The cylindrical post in the slotted hole is radially engaged into the curved groove, and the locking piece is moved out of the pin hole to unlock the insertion pin in the pin hole, so that the insertion pin can be separated from the pin hole, and the rotating shaft is separated from the support seat, and the toilet seat can be removed from the ceramic toilet bowl. Of course, the outer surface of the locking ring may have a recess instead of the protrusion, and the recess is linked with the toilet seat.
Preferably, the locking device further includes a positioning ring for axially positioning the locking ring on the reduced shaft. The positioning ring is circumferentially provided with an annular positioning groove. The positioning ring is provided with an engaging hole. An outer wall of the reduced shaft is provided with a positioning boss. The positioning boss is engaged with the engaging hole to fix the positioning ring fitted on the reduced shaft. One of the purposes of the positioning ring is to axially position the locking ring on the reduced shaft. Another purpose of the positioning ring is that when the rotating shaft is connected with a shaft sleeve, the annular positioning groove of the positioning ring is engaged with a positioning buckle embedded on the shaft sleeve, so that the entire rotating shaft is positioned and installed in the toilet seat shaft sleeve.
According to another aspect of the present invention, a toilet seat having the above-mentioned rotary quick-release hinge is provided. The toilet seat comprises a seat and an upper cover. The rotating shaft is inserted into a seat shaft sleeve and an upper cover shaft sleeve. The upright post of the fixing shaft is exposed out of the seat shaft sleeve. The seat shaft sleeve is linked with the locking device to lock or unlock the insertion pin in the pin hole.
Preferably, a strip-shaped groove is provided in the seat shaft sleeve for engaging the protrusion of the locking ring. The position of the strip-shaped groove in the seat shaft sleeve determines the initial mounting state of the locking ring and also determines how much the turning angle of the seat is, and the curved groove of the locking ring gives way to the cylindrical post, so that the locking device unlocks the insertion pin. The toilet seat can be turned to a predetermined angle for disassembling or assembling the rotary quick-release hinge, thereby realizing the installation and disassembly of the toilet seat on the ceramic toilet bowl.
Preferably, a positioning buckle is embedded in an outer wall of the seat shaft sleeve. The positioning buckle is engaged in the annular positioning groove of the positioning ring so that the rotating shaft is positioned in the seat shaft sleeve and the upper cover shaft sleeve. The rotating shaft can be installed in the toilet seat shaft sleeve with ease to reduce the installation cost of the product.
The beneficial effects of the present invention are as follows:
1. The downward pressure of the toilet seat is completely carried by the end face of the support seat. The insertion pin does not bear the pressure of the toilet seat. The vertical connection strength of the rotating shaft with the support seat and the insertion pin is stronger, and the torque generated by turning the toilet seat can be jointly carried without damaging the support seat.
2. Without the traditional design of the buffer and the locking device at both ends of the fixing shaft, the locking device is installed on the fixing shaft and located between the buffer and the reduced shaft and cooperates with the toilet seat to lock or unlock the insertion pin. The toilet seat can be assembled to or disassembled from the ceramic toilet bowl conveniently and easily, not increasing the installation space of the rotating shaft and the toilet seat shaft sleeve.
3. Without dismantling the rotating shaft, the entire assembled rotating shaft can be directly inserted and installed into the toilet seat shaft sleeve, so that the assembly of the rotating shaft and the toilet seat can be more efficient and flexible.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 2, and FIG. 6 to FIG. 8, a rotary quick-release hinge comprises a support seat 10 fixed to a ceramic toilet bowl and provided with an insertion pin 11 and a rotating shaft 20 composed of a fixing shaft 21 and a buffer 22 that are coaxially connected for pivoting a toilet seat. The bottom of the fixing shaft 21 of the present invention is provided with an upright post 211. The upright post 211 has a pin hole 212 extending from the bottom of the upright post 211 into the fixing shaft 21. The insertion pin 11 has a height less than the depth of the pin hole 212. When the insertion pin 11 is fully inserted into the pin hole 212 to be positioned, the upright post 211 is pressed against the support seat 10. The rotating shaft 20 further includes a locking device 23 disposed on the fixing shaft 21 and located between the buffer 22 and the pin hole 212. The locking device 23 is configured to lock the insertion pin 11 and linked with the toilet seat. When the toilet seat is turned to a predetermined angle, the locking device 23 is disengaged from a locking groove 12 provided on the insertion pin 11 so that the insertion pin 11 can be pulled out from the pin hole 212.
As shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 2, and FIG. 6 to FIG. 8, the fixing shaft 21 of the present invention is axially provided with a reduced shaft 213. The reduced shaft 213 has a stepped hole 214 extending from the outer end of the reduced shaft 213 to the pin hole 212 and communicating with the pin hole 212. The junction of the fixing shaft 21 and the reduced shaft 213 is axially provided with a slotted hole 215 intersecting with the stepped hole 214. A buffer shaft 221 of the buffer 22 is inserted and fixed to the stepped hole 214. The locking device 23 is mounted between the reduced shaft 213 and the pin hole 212. Specifically, the locking device 23 includes a spring 231 installed in the stepped hole 214, a locking piece 232 that abuts against the spring 231 and can be moved in and out of the pin hole 212, a cylindrical post 233 that is inserted in the slotted hole 215 and connected to a rear end 2321 of the locking piece 232, and a locking ring 234 that is rotatedly connected to the reduced shaft 213. The edge of the locking ring 234 is provided with a curved groove 2341. When the cylindrical post 233 is pressed against one end of the slotted hole 215 by the edge of the locking ring 234, a front end 2322 of the locking piece 232 is pushed into the pin hole 212 and engaged with the locking groove 12 of the insertion pin 11. When the locking ring 234 is rotated for the curved groove 2341 to give way to the cylindrical post 233, the cylindrical post 233 is moved to another end of the slotted hole 215 and engaged into the curved groove 2341. The spring 231 pushes the locking piece 232 so that the front end 2322 of the locking piece 232 is moved out of the pin hole 212 to unlock the insertion pin 11. The outer surface of the locking ring 234 of the present invention has a protrusion 2342. The protrusion 2342 and the curved groove 2341 are aligned in the axial direction of the lock ring 234. The lock ring 234 is linked with the toilet seat via the protrusion 2342. The locking device 23 further includes a positioning ring 235 for axially positioning the locking ring 234 on the reduced shaft 213. The positioning ring 235 is circumferentially provided with an annular positioning groove 2352. The positioning ring 235 is provided with an engaging hole 2351. The outer wall of the reduced shaft 213 is provided with a positioning boss 216. The positioning boss 216 is engaged with the engaging hole 2351 to fix the positioning ring 235 fitted on the reduced shaft 213, so that the locking ring 234 can only rotate on the reduced shaft 213 and cannot move axially along the reduced shaft 213. This completes the overall assembly of the rotating shaft 20 of the present invention.
As shown in FIG. 3 to FIG. 6, the present invention further discloses a toilet seat with a rotary quick-release hinge. The toilet seat 30 includes a seat 31 and an upper cover 32. The rotary quick-release hinge comprises a support seat 10 and a rotating shaft 20. A seat shaft sleeve 311 is provided with a strip-shaped groove 312. The entire rotating shaft 20 is inserted into the seat shaft sleeve 311 and an upper cover shaft sleeve 321. The upright post 211 of the fixing shaft 21 is exposed out of the seat shaft sleeve 311. The protrusion 2342 on the locking ring 234 is engaged with the strip-shaped groove 312 in the seat shaft sleeve 311 to interlock with each other. A positioning buckle 313 is embedded in the outer wall of the seat shaft sleeve 311. The positioning buckle 313 is engaged in the annular positioning groove 2352 of the positioning ring 235, so that the rotating shaft 20 is positioned in the seat shaft sleeve 311 and the upper cover shaft sleeve 321. As shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, the rotating shaft 20 and the toilet seat 30 of the present invention can be assembled with ease. When the seat shaft sleeve 311 is horizontal, an included angle between the curved groove 2341 of the locking ring 234 and the cylindrical post 233 in the rotation direction of the toilet seat 30 is 90°±5°.
The working principle and the actions of the specific implementation of the present invention are described in detail below.
As shown in FIG. 4 to FIG. 8, the support seat 10 is fixed to the ceramic toilet bowl. The rotating shaft 20 is pivotally connected to the seat shaft sleeve 311 and the upper cover shaft sleeve 321. The insertion pin 11 is fully inserted into the pin hole 212 to be positioned. The upright post 211 of the rotating shaft 20 is fully pressed against the support seat 10. The edge of the locking ring 234 presses the cylindrical post 233, so that the cylindrical post 233 is pressed to one end of the slotted hole 215, and the locking piece 232 moves forward against the elastic force of the spring 231, and the front end 2322 of the locking piece 232 extends into the pin hole 212 and is engaged in the locking groove 12 of the insertion pin 11, that is, the locking device 23 locks the insertion pin 11 and the fixing shaft 21, thereby realizing the installation of the toilet seat 30 on the ceramic toilet bowl. The seat 31 and the upper cover 32 can be turned down slowly through the buffer 22. All the pressure of the toilet seat 30 is loaded on the rotating shaft 20. Because the height of the insertion pin 11 is less than the depth of the pin hole 212, the insertion pin 11 is completely inserted into the pin hole 212 to be positioned. The top end of the insertion pin 11 is not in contact with the bottom of the pin hole 212. Therefore, the downward pressure carried by the rotating shaft 20 is completely supported by the support seat 10 through the upright post 211. When the toilet seat 30 is turned down slowly through the buffer 22, the torsional moment generated on the rotating shaft 20 is jointly supported by the upright post 211, the insertion pin 11 and the support seat 10 with large connection strength.
As shown in FIG. 10 to FIG. 12, the seat 31 is turned up to a position of 90°±5°, and the seat 31 drives the locking ring 234 to rotate. When the protrusion 2342 of the locking ring 234 is aligned with the slotted hole 215, the curved groove 2341 of the locking ring 234 gives way to the cylindrical post 233. The spring 231 elastically pushes the locking piece 232 and the cylindrical post 233 back, so that the cylindrical post 233 is moved to the other end of the slotted hole 215 and engaged into the curved groove 2341. The front end 2322 of the locking piece 232 is disengaged from the locking groove 12 of the insertion pin 11 and the pin hole 212, and the locking device 23 unlocks the insertion pin 11, so that the insertion pin 11 can be pulled out of the pin hole 212. As shown in FIG. 9 and FIG. 13, the toilet seat 30 is pulled up for the insertion pin 11 to be pulled out of the pin hole 212, that is, the rotating shaft 20 is separated from the support seat 10, and the toilet seat 30 can be detached from the ceramic toilet bowl.
On the contrary, as shown in FIG. 9 and FIG. 13, when the locking device 23 unlocks the insertion pin 11, the pin hole 212 of the rotating shaft 20 is aligned with the insertion pin 11 on the support seat 10. After that, the toilet seat 30 is pressed down, and the insertion pin 11 is fully inserted into the pin hole 212. The toilet seat 30 is turned downwards, and the seat 31 immediately drives the locking ring 234 to rotate in an opposite direction. The curved groove 2341 immediately pushes the cylindrical post 233 to the edge of the locking ring 234. The cylindrical post 233 drives the locking piece 232 to move forward against the elastic force of the spring 231, and the front end 2322 of the locking piece 232 extends into the pin hole 212 and is engaged in the locking groove 12 of the insertion pin 11, that is, the locking device 23 locks the insertion pin 11, and the rotating shaft 20 and the support seat 10 are locked and secured, thereby realizing the installation of the toilet seat 30 on the ceramic toilet bowl. In the process that the toilet seat 30 continues to turn down, the edge of the locking ring 234 holds against the cylindrical post 233. As shown in FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, until the toilet seat 30 is turned to a horizontal position, the locking device 23 still locks the insertion pin 11.
