Abstract

An impact shield 1 adapted for a vehicle safety seat body 2. The shield 1 comprising an engaging base 20 for engaging with a seat body 2 of the safety seat in a separable manner, a shielding body 10 slidably connected to the engaging base 20 in an adjustable manner, and an adjusting mechanism (Fig 4, item 30) installed between the shielding body and the engaging base and for slidably adjusting the shielding body relative to the engaging base. The impact shield can fit a child's body seated in the safety seat by adjusting the position of the shielding body relative to the engaging base 20, to improve the surround fitting of the safety seat and prevent the child from falling out of the safety seat in an emergency brake or accidental collision of the car.

Description

IMPACT SHIELD AND SAFETY SEAT THEREWITH
Background of the Invention
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to an impact shield and a safety seat therewith, and more particularly, to an adjustable impact shield and a safety seat therewith.
2. Description of the Prior Art
A safety seat is attached to a car seat and binds a child to the car seat by a restraining device. The safety seat can effectively reduce a risk of injury to the child seated thereon in an emergent brake or accidental collision of the car and is therefore widely used.
One of the restraining devices used in the existing safety seat is an impact shield. Due to hard material and shape of the impact shield, the impact shield cannot absorb enormous energy generated by an impact enough. Besides, a position of the conventional restraining device cannot be adjusted after being installed on the safety seat, so that it is impossible to completely fit the child's body seated in the safety seat. If the car is bumped and flipped, the child with a small body might fly upwardly from the safety seat, which reduces the safety of use.
Therefore, there is a need to develop an adjustable impact shield and a safety seat therewith to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention aims at providing an adjustable impact shield with simple structure and easy operation and a safety seat therewith.
According to the claimed invention, an impact shield is adapted for a safety seat. The impact shield includes an engaging base for engaging with a seat body of the safety seat in a separable manner, a shielding body slidably connected to the engaging base in an adjustable manner, and an adjusting mechanism installed between the shielding body and the engaging base and for slidably adjusting the shielding body relative to the engaging base.
Preferably, the adjusting mechanism includes at least one locking pin slidably connected to the shielding body and movable between a first position and a second position. The at least one locking pin engages with the engaging base when the at least one locking pin is located at the first position, and the at least one locking pin disengages from the engaging base for allowing the shielding body to slide relative to the engaging base when the at least one locking pin is located at the second position. The adjusting mechanism further includes an operating assembly movably connected to the shielding body, and at least one dragging component connected to the operating assembly and the at least one locking pin. The at least one dragging component drives the at least one locking pin to move between the first position and the second position by movement of the operating assembly.
Preferably, the adjusting mechanism includes two locking pins and two dragging components, the two locking pins are disposed on two sides of the shielding body, the two dragging components are respectively connected to the two locking pins and the operating assembly, and the operating assembly drives the two locking pins by the two dragging components simultaneously.
Preferably, the adjusting mechanism further includes a first resilient component installed inside the shielding body, two ends of the first resilient component are connected to the at least one locking pin and the shielding body, and the first resilient component biases the at least one locking pin to move to the first position.
Preferably, the adjusting mechanism further includes a driving component, the at least one locking pin is slidably connected to the shielding body via the driving component, the at least one dragging component is fixed on the driving component, and the first resilient component abuts against the driving component.
Preferably, the adjusting mechanism further includes a fixing component fixed on the shielding body, and the at least one locking pin is slidably connected to the fixing component and protrudes out of the fixing component.
Preferably, a guiding slot is formed on one of the fixing component and the at least one locking pin, and a guiding post is disposed on the other of the fixing component and the at least one locking pin.
Preferably, the operating assembly includes an adjusting button movably connected to the shielding body, and a driving post slidably connected to the adjusting button and fixed with the at least one dragging component. The adjusting button drives the driving post to drag the at least one dragging component. The operating assembly further includes a second resilient component received between the adjusting button and the shielding body and for driving the adjusting button to recover .
Preferably, a driving slot is slantly disposed on the adjusting button, and the driving post passes through the driving slot.
Preferably, a moving direction of the adjusting button intersects with a sliding direction of the at least one locking pin.
Preferably, a plurality of engaging holes are disposed on the engaging base, and the at least one locking pin separably engages with one of the plurality of engaging holes selectively.
Preferably, a restraining slot is formed on one of the engaging base and the shielding body along a sliding direction of the shielding body, and a restraining post is disposed on the other of the engaging base and the shielding body and slidably cooperates with the restraining slot.
According to the claimed invention, a safety seat includes a seat body and an impact shield detachably installed on the seat body. The impact shield includes an engaging base for engaging with the seat body in a separable manner, a shielding body slidably connected to the engaging base in an adjustable manner, and an adjusting mechanism installed between the shielding body and the engaging base and for slidably adjusting shielding body relative to the engaging base.
Preferably, the seat body includes a seat portion and a rail portion, an engaging slot is formed between the seat portion and the rail portion, and the engaging base detachably engages with the engaging slot.
In summary, the shielding body of the impact shield can be adjusted to slide relative to the engaging base by the adjusting mechanism installed between the shielding body and the engaging base, of the present application. Therefore, the impact shield can completely fit the child's body seated in the safety seat by adjusting the position of the shielding body relative to the engaging base, so as to enhance the bounding effect of the safety seat and prevent the child from falling out of the safety seat in an emergent brake or accidental collision of the car. Hence, the impact shield and the safety seat therewith of the present application have advantages of the enhanced safety, simple structure and easy operation.

In order to illustrate technical specifications and structural features as well as achieved purposes and effects of the present invention, relevant embodiments and figures are described as follows.
In the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments, reference is made to the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. In this regard, directional terminology, such as top, bottom, front, back, etc., is used with reference to the orientation of the Figure (s) being described. The components of the present invention can be positioned in a number of different orientations. As such, the directional terminology is used for purposes of illustration and is in no way limiting. Accordingly, the drawings and descriptions will be regarded as illustrative in nature and not as restrictive .
Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2. FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 are schematic diagrams of an impact shield 1 installed on a seat body 2 at different views according to an embodiment of the present invention. The present application provides a safety seat including the impact shield 1, the seat body 2, and a backrest which is not shown in figures. The impact shield 1 is detachably installed on a front side of the seat body 2. The backrest is installed on a rear side of the seat body 2 . A child can seat within the space formed by the seat body 2, the impact shield 1 and the backrest of the safety seat for securing the safety of the child. The seat body 2 includes a seat portion 210 and two rail portions 220 disposed on two lateral sides of the seat portion 210. An engaging slot 230 is formed between the seat portion 210 and the rail portion
220, and the impact shield 1 can detachably engage with the engaging slot 230.
Please refer to FIG. 1 to FIG. 4. FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of the impact shield 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 4 is an exploded diagram of the impact shield 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention. The impact shield 1 includes a shielding body 10, an engaging base 20 symmetrically disposed on two sides of the shielding body 10, and an adjusting mechanism 30 installed between the shielding body 10 and the engaging base 20 and for slidably adjusting the shielding body 10 relative to the engaging base 20. At least one engaging portion 21 is formed on the engaging base 20 and cooperates with the engaging slot 230, and the engaging portion 21 engages with the engaging slot 230 on the seat body 2 in a separable manner. The shielding body 10 can be slidably adjusted and positioned relative to the engaging base 20 by the adjusting mechanism 30.
Please refer to FIG.4 and FIG. 5. FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram of the engaging base 20 as shown in FIG. 4 at another view according to the embodiment of the present invention. A plurality of engaging holes 22 and at least one restraining slot 23 are disposed on the engaging base 20 along a sliding direction of the shielding body 10. A restraining post 11 protrudes from a lateral wall of the shielding body 10 and slidably cooperates with the restraining slot 23. The sliding movement of the shielding body 10 can be guided and restrained via the cooperation of the restraining post 11 and the restraining slot 23, and the adjusting mechanism 30 can be engaged into anyone of the plurality of engaging holes 22 selectively, so as to position the adjusted shielding body
10. Understandably, the restraining slot 23 also can be disposed on the shielding body 10, and the restraining post can be disposed on the engaging base 20 accordingly. It depends on actual design demand.
Please refer to FIG.6 and FIG. 7. FIG. 6 is an exploded diagram of the shielding body 10 as shown in FIG. 4 according to the embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 7 is an enlarged diagram of the adjusting mechanism 30 as shown in FIG. 6 according to the embodiment of the present invention. The adjusting mechanism 30 includes an operating assembly 31, two dragging components 32 and two locking assemblies 33. The two locking assemblies 33 are disposed on two sides of the shielding body 10 and protrude from lateral walls of the shielding body 10, so as to separably engage with the plurality of engaging holes 22. The operating assembly 31 is movably connected to the shielding body 10 and connected to the two locking assemblies 33 via the two dragging components 32. When the operating assembly 31 moves, the two dragging components 32 can be dragged to drive the two locking assemblies 33 to disengage from the corresponding engaging holes 22 simultaneously, so that the shielding body 10 can be slidably adjusted relative to the engaging base 20 . The above operation can be performed by a user's single hand, which brings convenience of operation.
The two locking assemblies 33 can have same structures and symmetrical configurations, and one of the two locking assemblies 33 is introduced as follows. Please refer to FIG. 4 and FIG. 6 to FIG. 9. FIG. 8 and FIG. 9 are partial sectional diagrams of the impact shield 1 as shown in FIG. 3 at different views according to the embodiment of the present invention. Each locking assembly 33 includes a locking pin 331 and a first resilient component 332. The locking pin 331 is slidably connected to the shielding body 10 and protrudes out of the shielding body 10. The locking pin 331 is movable between a first position and a second position. The locking pin 331 engages with one of the plurality of engaging holes 22 on the engaging base 20 when the locking pin 331 is located at the first position. The locking pin 331 disengages from one of the plurality of engaging holes 22 on the engaging base 20 for allowing the shielding body 10 to slide relative to the engaging base 20 when the locking pin 331 is located at the second position. The dragging component 32 passes through the shielding body 10 and connected to the operating assembly 31 and the corresponding locking pin 331. The dragging component 32 can drive the corresponding locking pin 331 to move between the first position and the second position by movement of the operating assembly 31. The first resilient component 332 is installed inside the shielding body 10, two ends of the first resilient component 332 are connected to the corresponding locking pin 331 and the shielding body 10, and the first resilient component 332 biases the corresponding locking pin 331 to move to the first position.
As shown in FIG. 4 and FIG. 6 to FIG. 9, each locking assembly 33 further includes a driving component 333 and a fixing component 334. The fixing component 334 is fixed on the shielding body 40 and has an accommodating space 3341, and a through hole 3342 is formed on an end of the fixing component 334 and communicated with the accommodating space 3341, as shown in FIG. 9. The end of the fixing component 334 with the through hole 3342 protrudes out of the shielding body
10. The locking pin 331 is fixed to the driving component 333 and protrudes out of an end of the driving component 333. A positioning protrusion 3331 is formed on the other end of the driving component 333. The driving component 333 is slidably accommodated inside the accommodating space 3341 of the fixing component 334 . The locking pin 331 protrudes from the through hole 3342. The first resilient component 332 sheathes with the positioning protrusion 3331 and abuts against the driving component 333 at one end, and the other end of the first resilient component 332 abuts against the fixing component 334, as shown in FIG. 9. An end of the dragging component 32 is fixed to the other end of the driving component 333 with the positioning protrusion 3331, and the other end of the dragging component 32 passes through the fixing component 334 to connect with the operating assembly 31. When the dragging component 32 drags the driving component 333 to slide the locking pin 331 from the first position to the second position, the first resilient component 332 is compressed. When the dragging component 32 does not drag the driving component 333, the compressed first resilient component 332 restores to recover the driving component 333 for sliding the locking pin 331 from the second position to the first position, so that the locking pin 331 can be engaged inside the engaging hole 22 .
Please refer to FIG. 7 to FIG. 9. A guiding post 3311 is disposed on the locking pin 331, and the guiding post 3311 protrudes out of the driving component 333 after the locking pin 331 is assembled with the driving component 333. Accordingly, as shown in FIG. 7, a guiding slot 3343 is formed on the fixing component 334 along a sliding direction of the locking pin 331, and the guiding post 3311 slidably passes through the guiding slot 3343. Understandably, the guiding slot 3343 also can be formed on a lateral surface of the locking pin 331, and the guiding post 3311 also can be disposed on the fixing component 334 to cooperate with the guiding slot 3343 on the locking pin 331. It depends on actual design demand.
Please refer to FIG. 6 to FIG. 8. The operating assembly 31 includes an adjusting button 311, two driving posts 312 and a second resilient component 313. The adjusting button io
311 is movably connected to the shielding body 10, and a moving direction of the adjusting button 311 intersects with the sliding direction of the locking pin 331. The two driving posts
312 are slidably connected to the adjusting button 311 and fixed with the two dragging components 32 respectively. The adjusting button 311 drives the two driving posts 312 to drag the two dragging components 32 simultaneously. The second resilient component 313 is received between the adjusting button 311 and the shielding body 10 and for driving the adjusting button 311 to recover.
Specifically, two driving slots 3111 are slantly disposed on the adjusting button 311. For example, the two driving slots 3111 can be arranged in a reverse V shape. Each driving post 312 passes through the corresponding driving slot 3111. When the adjusting button 311 is pressed down, the adjusting button 311 can simultaneously drive the two driving posts 312 upwardly via the two driving slots 3111, so as to drag the two dragging components 32 inwardly. Then, the two dragging components 32 can simultaneously drive the two locking pins 331 to disengage from the engaging base 20. Preferably, a moving direction of the adjusting button 311 and the sliding direction of the locking pin 331 can be perpendicular to each other .
Please refer to FIG. 6 and FIG. 7. The operating assembly 31 further includes a cover 314. The cover 314 is fixed on the shielding body 10 and has an opening, which is not shown in figures. The adjusting button 311 protrudes out of an upper surface of the shielding body 10 through the opening on the cover 314.
Please refer to FIG. 1 to FIG. 9. The operation of the impact shield 1 of the present application is introduced as follows. As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the engaging base 20 can be engaged with the engaging slot 230 on the seat body 2 for installing the impact shield 1 on the seat body 2. When it is desired to adjust the position of the impact shield 1, the adjusting button 311 can be pressed down along an arrow direction F as shown in FIG. 3, so that the adjusting button 311 can simultaneously drive the two driving posts 312 upwardly via the two driving slots 3111, and then the two driving posts 312 drive the two dragging components 32 inwardly. As shown in FIG. 7 and FIG. 8, the dragging component 32 can drive the driving component 333, so as to drive the locking pin 331 to slide in a parallel direction. When the locking pin 331 is moved to the second position to disengage from the engaging hole 22 on the engaging base 20, the shielding body 10 can be slid forwardly or backwardly relative to the engaging base 20, so as to adjust the position of the impact shield 1.
When the adjusting button 311 is pressed down, the second resilient component 313 is compressed. At the same time, the first resilient component 332 is also compressed when the locking pin 331 is moving to the second position. After the shielding body 10 has been moved to the desired position, the adjusting button 311 can be released, so that the second resilient component 313 can provide a resilient recovering force to recover the adjusting button 311. At the same time, the first resilient component 332 is also restored from the deformation to drive the locking pin 331 from the second position to the first position, so as to engage the locking pin 331 with the corresponding engaging hole 22 again, which can achieve the positioning function of the shielding body 10 and the engaging base 20.
In conclusion, the shielding body 10 of the impact shield can be adjusted to slide relative to the engaging base 20 by the adjusting mechanism 30 installed between the shielding body 10 and the engaging base 20, of the present application. Therefore, the impact shield 1 can completely fit the child's body seated in the safety seat by adjusting the position of the shielding body 10 relative to the engaging base 20, so as to enhance the bounding effect of the safety seat and prevent the child from falling out of the safety seat in an emergent brake or accidental collision of the car. Hence, the impact shield and the safety seat therewith of the present application have advantages of the enhanced safety, simple structure and easy operation.
Those skilled in the art will readily observe that numerous modifications and alterations of the device and method may be made while retaining the teachings of the invention.

Claims (20)

What is claimed is:
1. An impact shield adapted for a safety seat, the impact shield comprising:
an engaging base for engaging with a seat body of the safety seat in a separable manner;
a shielding body slidably connected to the engaging base in an adjustable manner; and an adjusting mechanism installed between the shielding body and the engaging base and for slidably adjusting the shielding body relative to the engaging base.
2. The impact shield of claim 1, wherein the adjusting mechanism comprises:
at least one locking pin slidably connected to the shielding body and movable between a first position and a second position, the at least one locking pin engaging with the engaging base when the at least one locking pin is located at the first position, and the at least one locking pin disengaging from the engaging base for allowing the shielding body to slide relative to the engaging base when the at least one locking pin is located at the second position;
an operating assembly movably connected to the shielding body; and at least one dragging component connected to the operating assembly and the at least one locking pin, the at least one dragging component driving the at least one locking pin to move between the first position and the second position by movement of the operating assembly.
3. The impact shield of claim 2, wherein the adjusting mechanism comprises two locking pins and two dragging components, the two locking pins are disposed on two sides of the shielding body, the two dragging components are respectively connected to the two locking pins and the operating assembly, and the operating assembly drives the two locking pins by the two dragging components simultaneously.
4. The impact shield of claim 2, wherein the adjusting mechanism further comprises a first resilient component installed inside the shielding body, two ends of the first resilient component are connected to the at least one locking pin and the shielding body, and the first resilient component biases the at least one locking pin to move to the first position.
5. The impact shield of claim 4, wherein the adjusting mechanism further comprises a driving component, the at least one locking pin is slidably connected to the shielding body via the driving component, the at least one dragging component is fixed on the driving component, and the first resilient component abuts against the driving component.
6. The impact shield of claim 2, wherein the adjusting mechanism further comprises a fixing component fixed on the shielding body, and the at least one locking pin is slidably connected to the fixing component and protrudes out of the fixing component.
7. The impact shield of claim 6, wherein a guiding slot is formed on one of the fixing component and the at least one locking pin, and a guiding post is disposed on the other of the fixing component and the at least one locking pin.
8. The impact shield of claim 2, wherein the operating assembly comprises:
an adjusting button movably connected to the shielding body;
a driving post slidably connected to the adjusting button and fixed with the at least one dragging component, the adjusting button driving the driving post to drag the at least one dragging component; and a second resilient component received between the adjusting button and the shielding body and for driving the adjusting button to recover.
9. The impact shield of claim 8, wherein a driving slot is slantly disposed on the adjusting button, and the driving post passes through the driving slot.
10. The impact shield of claim 8, wherein a moving direction of the adjusting button intersects with a sliding direction of the at least one locking pin.
11. The impact shield of claim 2, wherein a plurality of engaging holes are disposed on the engaging base, and the at least one locking pin separably engages with one of the plurality of engaging holes selectively.
12. The impact shield of claim 2, wherein a restraining slot is formed on one of the engaging base and the shielding body along a sliding direction of the shielding body, and a restraining post is disposed on the other of the engaging base and the shielding body and slidably cooperates with the restraining slot.
13. A safety seat comprising:
a seat body;
an impact shield detachably installed on the seat body, the impact shield comprising:
an engaging base for engaging with the seat body in a separable manner;
a shielding body slidably connected to the engaging base in an adjustable manner; and an adjusting mechanism installed between the shielding body and the engaging base and for slidably adjusting shielding body relative to the engaging base .
14. The safety seat of claim 13, wherein the seat body comprises a seat portion and a rail portion, an engaging slot is formed between the seat portion and the rail portion, and the engaging base detachably engages with the engaging slot.
15. The safety seat of claim 13, wherein the adjusting mechanism comprises:
at least one locking pin slidably connected to the shielding body and movable between a first position and a second position, the at least one locking pin engaging with the engaging base when the at least one locking pin is located at the first position, and the at least one locking pin disengaging from the engaging base for allowing the shielding body to slide relative to the engaging base the when the at least one locking pin is located at the second position;
an operating assembly movably connected to the shielding body; and at least one dragging component connected to the operating assembly and the at least one locking pin, the at least one dragging component driving the at least one locking pin to move between the first position and the second position by movement of the operating assembly.
16. The safety seat of claim 15, wherein the adjusting mechanism further comprises a first resilient component installed inside the shielding body, two ends of the first resilient component are connected to the at least one locking pin and the shielding body, and the first resilient component biases the at least one locking pin to move to the first position.
17. The safety seat of claim 16, wherein the adjusting mechanism further comprises a driving component, the at least one locking pin is slidably connected to the shielding body via the driving component, the at least one dragging component is fixed on the driving component, and the first resilient component abuts against the driving component.
18. The safety seat of claim 15, wherein the operating assembly comprises:
an adjusting button movably connected to the shielding body;
a driving post slidably connected to the adjusting buttion and fixed with the at least one dragging component, the adjusting button driving the driving post to drag the at least one dragging component; and a second resilient component received between the adjusting button and the shielding body and for driving the adjusting button to recover.
19. The safety seat of claim 18, wherein a driving slot is slantly disposed on the adjusting button, and the driving post passes through the driving slot.
20. The safety seat of claim 15, wherein a restraining slot is formed on one of the engaging base and the shielding body along a sliding direction of the shielding body, and a restraining post is disposed on the other of the engaging base and the shielding body and slidably cooperates with the restraining slot.
