257,048. Harvey & Co., Ltd., M., and Cubley, H. June 22, 1925. Hinges readily separable about hinge pin.-In spigot-and-socket joints for detachable windscreens &c. of the kind in which the socket 1 is provided with one or more springs 3 extending longitudinally of the socket and projecting into the interior thereof, through slots 2 formed in the walls, so as to engage the spigot 7, that portion of the wall of the socket which is slotted is arranged to be of greater thickness than the remainder, preferab'y by boring the socket eccentrically in relation to its exterior. The single spring 3, which has two bowed portions 4, is centrally secured within a groove formed in the wall of the socket by flanging over the material forming the edge of the groove into engagement therewith, or by a screw.
