Abstract

A capsule or similar viewing structure has internal contiguous flexible display screens that show footage captured by cameras located on an observation platform. The footage may be recorded and processed, having been captured at various geographical locations at different times. The footage may be augmented. The cameras may be supported by temporary structures such as inflatable, telescopic or flexible structures, which preferably move at varying speeds, and may be mounted on flying objects. Footage is preferably played back during viewings at an appropriate speed. The capsule or observation structure may be supported by controlled dynamic systems in order to shake, vibrate or similarly move the capsule to provide a four-dimensional experience.

Description

Panoxperience
This invention relates to an observation system that provides its users with panoramic view experience.
Many conventional structures provide riders with experience of extra ordinary observation, such as aerial view from a high altitude, deep underwater, or free fall Bungee jumping.
These methods tend to be of high construction and running costs, and they require high measures of safety. Furthermore, some riders with special conditions such as Acrophobia and Claustrophobia may not be able to benefit from them.
To overcome these and other issues, the present invention utilizes new available technology to deliver similar experience in a more efficient, green, and safe manner. It uses high performance cameras together with high resolution and flexible displays to deliver the same panoramic experience, while riders are on ground. Display capsules of different sizes to accommodate individuals or large groups can be used. Displaying views captured from distance gives a 3D view on 2D walls without the need for visual aids.
Due to their small size and light weight, cameras could be mounted on rigid, moving, flexible, inflatable, or flying support systems, such structures would carry minimal loads of cameras, and riders will remain safe in the heavy capsule on ground.
Multiple cameras, wide angle lens and/or panoramic 360° cameras are used to capture full 3D view.
Flexible display surfaces and curved monitors can form contiguous panoramic view on internal walls of capsules, including roof, floor and entrance.
Camera output could be live or recorded and/or processed to allow moving camera at higher speed, displaying of different times and locations, and augmenting streams.
These capsules can be stationary, or supported by controlled dynamic systems to shake, vibrate, apply G-force and give 4D+ experience .
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 shows the capsule supported on ground,
Figure 2 shows mounting tower that consists of stationary and moving parts,
Figure 3 shows a system that simulates Ferris wheel observation experience with single radial arm for camera.
In figure 1, the capsule 1 is supported by system 2, this can be stationary or dynamic to allow 4D+ experience.
Figure 2 illustrates simple rigid vertical tower 1, that is used to support moving platform 2 to carry cameras, the streams could be captured by:
• moving the whole platform;
• moving cameras on the platform;
• zooming camera, using lens and/or digitally.
In order to achieve higher altitude efficiently, the tower could be temporary extended using structure 3 when the platform needs to reach further location 4, this temporary structure could be inflatable, telescopic or flexible.
The platform could move at a higher speed to reduce load on temporary structure and get advantage of its dynamic and momentum, recorded videos would be displayed for users at a lower speed.
The platform could be carried on moving drones attached to the rigid tower by flexible light weight cables.
Figure 3 shows an alternative observation system where the platform rotates to provide a Ferris wheel experience.
