Abstract
An ear bud or headphone carrying device has a cylindrical reel or bobbin like body 1 with hollow sections 9 at either end in which earpieces may be located. Covers or lids 4 may secure the buds in situ Fig 4. Each end rim may be notched 6 to allow a cable to pass through and along a channel or groove 3. The headphone wire or lead may have an associated plug or connector that may be located in a slot 10 and then the wire or lead may be wrapped around a former 2 in a V shaped channel, see also figure 8. The device is intended to reduce the likelihood of the cable or cord becoming tangled and to securely store the earbuds within the housing.
Description
Audio Earphones Set - Carry Case
This invention relates to a cylinder shaped carry case for holding and storing an audio earphones set.
Audio Earphone sets are used around the world to listen to audio & video from a wide range of output devices. I have noticed whilst out in public, how people often rummage through their bag or pockets to locate their earphones set. Once located, they frequently have the task of untangling the wires before use.
To overcome this, the present invention proposes an audio earphones set carry case consisting of a cylinder or rod shaped body, with each end hollowed out to form a cavity for storing each earphone (Left & Right). Each end can be sealed by way of a removable end cap. The centre part of the cylinder shaped body contains a rectangular recessed gully for housing an audio earphones set media control. Each end of the body has at the top a grooved gully which runs from a cut out notch on the rim and into the mid-body section where there is a deep v-grooved channel. This deep v-grooved channel allows the audio earphones cord to be coiled around it.
The carry case allows for the safe transportation of an audio earphones set. It will protect the earpieces from damage and also protect the audio wires from breakage and entanglement.
Preferably, the earphones set carry case is of cylindrical or rod shaped material.
Preferably, the earphones set carry case body is hollowed out on each end to provide a cavity storage space.
Preferably, the earphones carry case body has a cut out notch at the top of each end of the cavity storage space rim.
Preferably, the cavity storage space on each end has a removable attached cap.
Preferably, the main body of the earphones carry case has along the front mid-section, a rectangular recessed gully for housing an audio earphones set media control which is often found on an audio earphones wire in between one earpiece and the jack plug.
Preferably, the earphones carry case has in its mid-body section, a deep v-grooved channel. This channel runs vertically across the center of the main body and allows the audio earphones set wires to be coiled around it.
Preferably, each end of the earphones carry case, has a grooved gully that runs from the cut out notch on the storage space rim and guides the audio wire out of the cavity storage space and into the mid-body section.
Preferably, the removable attached cap is connected by way of a flexible hinge or other means not shown.
Preferably, the end cap has a circular ridge on the inside which has a cut out notch at the top. This notch facilitates an audio earphones set wire to pass through freely into the cavity area.
An example of the invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings:
Figure 1 shows a top view of the earphones set carry-case in the open position with an End Cap either side. A small cut out notch can be seen on the inside circular ridge of each End Cap and also at the top of each end of the main cylinder shaped body. These notches facilitate an earphones set audio wire running to and from the cavity storage space. At the top of each end of the cylinder shaped body there is a grooved gully which runs from the cut out notch on the rim and into the central deep v-grooved channel.
Figure 2 shows an end view of the main cylinder shaped body where a cavity space for storing an earphone piece can be seen. A cut out notch can be seen on the rim that allows the audio earphones set wire access out to the grooved gully on the main body.
Figure 3 shows a front view of the main cylinder shaped body where there is a rectangular recessed gully in the center which can house an audio earphones set media control. The end caps are shown in the open position.
Figure 4 shows an underside view of the earphones carry-case along with the connector hinges that connect each end cap to the main body.
Figure 5 shows the inside of the End Cap where a cut out notch can be seen on the inside circular ridge.
Figure 6 shows an outside end view of the End Cap.
Figure 7 shows a front view of the earphones carry-case where the rectangular recessed gully can be seen that houses the audio earphones set media control. The End Caps are shown in the closed position.
Figure 8 shows a Front view of the earphones carry-case with an audio earphones set wrapped around the central deep v-grooved channel and with each earphone piece tucked inside each end of the cavity storage space. The end caps are shown in the open position.
Figure 9 shows a front view of the earphones carry-case with an audio earphones set wrapped around the central deep v-grooved channel and with each earphone piece tucked inside each end of the cavity storage space. The end caps are shown in the closed position.
Figure 10 shows a top view of the earphones carry-case in the closed position. A small cut out notch can be seen at each end of the cylinder shaped main body along the top of the storage space rim. This notch will synchronise with the cut out notch on the inside circular ridge of each end cap. This allows an audio earphones set wire to pass through freely. At the top of each end of the cylinder shaped body there is a grooved gully which runs from the cut out notch on the rim and into the central deep v-grooved channel. This guides the audio earphones wire into the center of the earphone case main body where it is coiled around it.
Figure 11 shows a perspective view of the audio earphones set carry-case where the end caps are shown attached to the main body using a flexible hinge of some type or form or other means not shown. A cut out notch can be seen on the circular inner ridge of each end cap which is used to facilitate an audio earphones set wire passing through freely into the cavity storage space. The cavity storage space can be seen on the end of the main body along with a cut out notch at the top of the rim. A grooved gully runs from the cut out notch on the rim and into the center of the main body where there can be seen a deep v-grooved channel which is used to store an audio earphones set wire by wrapping it around. Along the front mid-center there can be seen a rectangular recessed gully which is used to store and house an audio earphones set media control.
The audio earphones case has a cylinder or rod shaped body 1, Figure 1 which is hollowed out at each end to form a cavity storage space 9, see Figure 2 and 11. Each hollowed out end has a cut out notch 6 which allows an audio earphones set wire access to pass through into the cavity storage space 9 when the end caps 4 are closed, see Figure 9.
There is a grooved gully 3 which runs from the cut out notch 6 and into the centre of the main body 1, Figure 1 and 11. This grooved gully 3 acts as a guide for the audio earphones set wires which then run into the central deep v-grooved channel 2. This v-groove channel 2 allows an audio earphones set wire to be coiled around it as shown in Figure 8 and 9.
The audio earphones case has a rectangular recessed gully 10 which can be seen across the center of the main body 2, Figure 3, and 11 and this holds an audio earphones set media control as shown in Figure 8 and 9. Two end caps 4 are shown which are attached to the cylinder shaped body 1 by means of flexible hinges 7 or some other type or means not shown. The end caps 4 have a circular internal ridge 5 with a cut out notch at the top 8, Figure 1, 5 and 11, which enables them to stay in place when they are inserted into the cavity storage space in the closed position Figure 7.
The underside of the earphones case shows the hinges 7 Figure 4, that attach the end caps 4 to the main body 1. The hinges are provided by flexible material or other means not shown.
