Abstract

A chair (14) is disclosed which can function as both as a set of stumps used for playing the game of cricket, and a chair from which a game of cricket can be watched. The chair has a seat (16) and a backrest (15). The backrest is formed from three spaced apart cylindrical stump-like members (31, 32, 33) which are dimensioned to create the impression of a set of cricket stumps. These stump-like members constitute the rear legs of the chair. Preferably the chair has a pair of front legs (27, 28). A method of playing cricket utilising the chair as one or both of the set of stumps is also disclosed. A cricket playing arena incorporating one or more of the chairs is also disclosed. Preferably, the chair is provided in a knock down form as a kit of parts which can be assembled by the purchaser
