Universal eye bolt actuated leveller and extendable stabiliser system for ladders and small deck structures
There are many ladder levelling devices of one type or another and they are all well known, designed to be attached to the ladder rail at a low position near the ladder foot. The ladder levellers are used to extend the attached ladder rail and support the ladder foot while compensating for the uneven bearing surface that supports the other ladder foot to keep the ladder in the upright position.
They are also many ladder stabiliser devices which are also well known and they are utilised at the top or upper part of the ladder to help brace the ladder on a vertical bearing surface such as the wall on the side of a building.
This can mean that you may have to use two devices to have a ladder in an upright position that is truly safe to use on a sloped surface.
The present invention overcomes the need to have two devices to use a ladder truly safely, because the present invention not just levels one ladder rail but attaches to both ladder rails and levels the ladder using the universal leveller assembly with jacking eye bolt while the extendable stabiliser assembly that support the leveller assembly moves outwards on the bearing surface to support and stabilise the ladder.
Current ladder levellers cannot solely be used effectively on soft ground because of the weight of the ladder plus the ladder user on the small, narrow load bearing area of the ladder leveller base causing the ladder to sink in to the soft ground and making the ladder unsafe to use.
The present invention can be used on any type of ladder, wide or narrow, wood or metal and with different lengths and can be used more effectively, than current ladder levellers, on soft ground.
This is because the much wider and much longer and therefore much greater load bearing area of each support of the lower extendable stabiliser assembly under and which support the upper leveller assembly can prevent the weight of the ladder plus the ladder to sink into the soft ground, making the ladder more safer to use.
The optional incliner leveller can be used to support small deck structures.
If needed, the jacking eye bolt on the levellers can be actuated to position and adjust the ladder or small deck structures to the required position.
The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 shows a universal eye bolt actuated leveller and stabiliser, not extended, with narrow ladder.
Figure 2 shows a universal eye bolt actuated leveller and stabiliser, extended, with wide ladder.
Figure 3 shows a universal eye bolt actuated leveller and stabiliser, extended, on an incline with rubber attachments and strap to tie ladder to extendable stabiliser.
