Abstract

A lithium-sulphur cell comprising an anode comprising lithium metal or lithium metal alloy, a cathode comprising a mixture of electroactive sulphur material and solid electroconductive material, and an electrolyte comprising a lithium salt and an organic solvent comprising 0 to less than 20 weight % of a sulfone; characterised in that at least a portion of the anode comprises a sulfone coating, said coated portion being in contact with the electrolyte.
