Abstract

A carton sizing system (1) that includes a frame (2), a controller (4), a marking device (5) movably mounted to the frame (2) and a measuring device (42). The marking device (5) and measuring device (42) are operatively connected to and controlled by the controller (4). The measuring device (42) is configured to determine, in use, the height of one or more objects contained within an open top carton (C). The controller (4) is configured to position the marking device (5) based on the determined height and to score or crease simultaneously adjoining first and second vertical walls of the carton (C) using the marking device (5) to define at least part of a foldable panel in each of the first and second walls of the carton (C).
