Abstract
A one piece fascia and soffit profile 5. The one piece profile is made from a since piece of plastic sheet, which is cut by the user to the desired size, and a groove (fig 5) is made on the back of the plastic sheet via a router bit that allows the sheet to bend to form the one piece fascia and soffit (fig 6). The user may router the plastic sheet vertically or horizontally or at any angle to allow the fascia and soffit to be folded at the correct position. The angle of the router bit may be altered to allow the plastic sheet to be folded at different angles. The sheet may be made from polyethylene honeycomb or web structured two-part sheet. The one piece fascia and soffit allows a user to customise the profile to suit the required roofline.
Description
One Piece' Description
Background
Fascia and Soffit profiles cover the joist around the roofline on a building, typically a house.
The Fascia attaches to the joist in the vertical plane. The guttering is then secured to the Fascia. The roof tiles may rest on the upper surface of the Fascia dependent upon design.
The Soffit is secured between the wall and the Fascia in the horizontal plane.
Statement of Invention
The invention 'One Piece' is a single piece of plastic sheet that can be used to replace the two-piece system of Fascia and Soffit profiles.

Description
Figurel shows the traditional Fascia and Soffits profiles as the current two-part system. Fascia (5) and Soffit (6) The Fascia and Soffit profiles are made from timber or plastic in a number of pre manufactured sizes. These are then taken to site and attached to the roof with various fixings, including nails, screws and pins, to the joist and wall.
Figure 2 shows the 'One Piece' (5) which replaces the traditional two-part Fascia and Soffit profiles with one sheet of plastic.
Figure 3 shows a typical sheet of plastic 5m x 4m that is to be formed into the 'One Piece' on site.
Figure 4 shows the plastic sheet cut to the 'One Piece' required width.
Figure 5 shows the use of a horizontal router (I) (but could be a vertical router) creating the groove on the reverse side of the sheet of plastic to allow it to be bent as required. The plastic sheet is routed at the correct position to give the required Fascia and Soffit dimensions, with regard to width, prior to bending.
The angle created by the router in this instance is 90 degrees. Different router bit angles would enable different angles to be created.
Figure 6 shows the plastic sheet having been cut to size, routed and bent to form the 'One Piece'.
Specific Benefits When using the 'One Piece' with Polyethylene honeycomb, or web structured two-part sheet, little to no visible esthetic change is seen on the outside corner making it a highly practical solution for roofline systems.
The 'One Piece' is also suitable for foiled and pre printed sheet.
The 'One Piece' is routed on the reverse side to enable the sheet to be bent at the required angle, usually 90 degrees, to form the exterior Fascia and Soffit in one piece. This process is suitable for sheet thicknesses from 3mm to 22mm.
There are many variations in Fascia and Soffit profile widths. Frequently the right width of profile cannot be purchased and the Fascia or Soffit profiles may have to be cut to width on site. Further, issues with stock holding can result in the fitter taking a larger than required size to site, cutting it to the correct width on site, wasting time and material.
The 'One Piece' is a plastic sheet that is used to replace traditional Fascia and Soffit profile. The 'One Piece' performs the same function as the two-part Fascia and Soffit profile yet enables the fitter to install faster and the complexity of parts and stock is reduced.
