[0026] Figure 4 is a schematic perspective view of a tapering hollow body being placed in a holder e.g. for toasting bread or bagels.
Detailed Description of the Invention
[0027] Selected embodiments will now he explained with reference to the drawings. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art from this disclosure that the following descriptions of the embodiments are provided for illustration only and not for the purpose of limiting the invention as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
[0028] Initially referring to Fig. 1, a cookware assembly 10 is illustrated. The cookware assembly 10 comprises a holder 20 and a hollow body 30. The depicted hollow body 30 has a cylindrical shape. However, the hollow body 90 can have any required or desired shape. The hollow body is placed in the holder 20 such as to protrude through a far side of the holder 20. The hollow body 30 can be held in the holder 20 by a force closure, e.g. by means of clamps, screws or the like. The hollow body 30 alternatively can be held in the holder 20 by form-fit closure with suitable matching structures on the hollow body 30 and/or the holder 30 (e.g. abutments, bulges, etc.).
[0029] In Fig. 1 the hollow body 30 is a cup-shaped body having a closed upper end (visible in figure 1) and an open lower end (not visible) through which heat can he applied (corresponding to Fig.4). Both the holder 20 and the hollow body 30 are manufactured from a suitable heat resistant, but heat conducting, material, such as, but not limited to steel, aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, certain ceramics etc. In one non-limiting aspect, the material used is 300 series stainless steel, which is brushed on one (non-cooking) side, having a thickness of 0.8 mm. The cooking side of the material can be coated with a non-stick surface such as, but not limited to, polytetrafluoroethylene.
[0030] Figure 2A illustrates another shape of the hollow body 30 being inserted in a holder 20. In this alternative of the cookware assembly 10 the hollow body 30 is cone shaped. The hollow body 30 accordingly fits without additional structures in the holder 30 by form closure. The holder 20 has a suitable opening to hold the hollow body 30. The opening has preferably the shape of the corresponding cross section of the hollow body 30. In the example of figure 2A, the shape of the opening is in the form of a circle. The center axis of the cone 30 is perpendicular to the surface of the holder 20 in figure 2A. The hollow body 20 depicted in Fig. 1 can be placed corresponding to the hollow body 20 depicted in Fig. 2A that is the closed side of the hollow body on its lower end and thus open on the top.
100311 Figure 2B illustrates another alternative of the cookware assembly 10 having the essentially the same hollow body 30 and holder 20 as depicted in figure 2A but with the center axis of the hollow body 30 being at an oblique angel with respect to the surface of the holder 20. Here the preferred shape of the opening is accordingly an ellipse, rather than a circle as in figure 2A. However, any shape suitable to hold the hollow body 30 is possible and is not limiting of the invention.
[0032] Figure 3 illustrates another alternative cookware assembly 10 having a hollow square-based pyramid as the hollow body 30 being placed in a rectangular holder 20. Here the center axis of the hollow body 30 is perpendicular to the surface of the holder 20. With this alternative cookware assembly 10, the opening in the holder 20 has in this aspect a square shape. However, circles and ellipses are, for example, possible as well. The rectangular holder 20 has the advantage that the user can safely handle the cookware assembly 10 at a distance to the heat source. It will be seen that the opening is located to one side in the rectangular holder, which means that a person can grip the rectangular holder 20 at the other side. The holder 20 shown in Fig. 3according to this embodiment can he used for holding the hollow body 30 while eating from the hollow body.
[0033] Figure 4 illustrates another alternative configuration of the cookware assembly 10. In this Figure, the hollow body 30 is substantially the same as that depicted in Fig. 3 but the holder 20 (shaped substantially as a circle or a round plate) is placed on the hollow body 30. In Fig. 4 the hollow body 30 is placed with its opening directed to the bottom such that the holder 20 fits over the top of the hollow body 30. With this alternative configuration, it is possible to place the cookware assembly 10 on a heat source (e.g. a camping stove) and heat the inside of the hollow body 30 or the holder 20. The skilled person will recognize that the holder 20 is not limited to a circular shaped plate, as depicted in Fig. 4. A rectangular holder, as depicted in Fig 3, is also possible. The heat is conducted to the culinary item(s) placed on the holder 20 through the hollow body 30 and/or the holder 20. The holder 20 and the hollow body 30 can also he used upside-down corresponding to the configuration depicted in Fig. 3.
[0034] In one non-limiting aspect of the disclosure, a bagel (i.e. annular pastry) is placed with the opening of the bagel fitting through the top of the hollow body 30 protruding through the holder 20. The bagel is heated. It is also possible to place four slices of toasting bread on the four sides of the hollow body 30 and heat the slices.
[0035] The inside of the hollow body 30 can he used to cook liquids, such as an egg. In this case, the inside of the hollow body 30 can be sprayed with a light oil.
[0036] The bottom edges of the hollow body 30holder depicted in Fig. 4 can be placed on the prongs of a gas stove, for example. This enables the heat to he directed into the hollow body 30 and conducted through to the holder.
[0037] In all of the figures, heat from any heat source is directed from the bottom to the top of the hollow body 30, as shown in the figures and indicated by the arrows labelled "HEAT".
10038] The cookware assembly can be used with a solar stove/oven. The light beam and heat can he directed into the base of the hollow body by a reflector in order to heat up the hollow body. The cookware assembly 10 can he placed on a grill mounted about the reflector.
[0039] It will he appreciated that the heat has to he conducted through the holder 20 and/or the hollow body 30 in the cookware assembly 10.. A low heat conduction rate (e.g. heat shield / insulator) hinders the cooking process and a too high heat conduction rate would lead to burning due to sticking of or direct exposure to the food on the surface. The materials of the holder 20 and the hollow body 30 are chosen in order to withstand the thermal stresses of the heat source. It will be appreciated that any form of the hollow body 30 can be used with every form of the holders 20, as long as the hollow body 30 fits into the hole on the holder.
