Abstract

A foldable device which is attached around a monitor screen (laptop screen, tablet device or television) which creates a 3 sided canopy around the screen to which it is affixed, to provide shade from light and privacy for the screen. The device attaches to the screen via a narrow notch cut across the inside of the device to the rear. When the device is folded around the screen, this notch locates to the top and side edges of the screen. The device is held in place via a band of elastic, which runs across the back of the screen. The elastic is attached at both sides of the device. The device is designed to be a portable, temporary, lightweight light and privacy shield for a screen, which folds away to the same dimensions as the screen.

iShade This invention relates to an accessory for modem laptop computers, computer tablets or any device with a monitor screen.
When using a laptop, tablet computer or any device with a monitor screen in brightl sunny conditions it can often be difficult to see the screen due to excess reflections bouncing off the screen, or due to the screen not being bright enough.
Also, whilst working in busy, confined conditions, such as the train or on a plane, the screen on a device can attract unwanted attention from strangers, who can observe the screen from near or far. This is not desirable when working with sensitive information, such as invoices or any personal or work related documents.
The iShade was designed to offer an enclosure which attaches to the screen and provides a shield from the sun, and provides privacy for the display, whilst still giving the devices' user unrestricted access to the keyboard and screen itself.
The iShade is designed to be a 3 sided folding device, which can be made from plastic, wood, cardboard, leather or fabric, which is folded around the top and two sides of a monitor screen (laptop, tablet device or any screen). The iShade creates a 3-sided canopy around the screen to which it is affixed.
The iShade has a notch running the width of the iShade. When the iShade is 0 folded around the screen, this notch locates to the top and side edges of the screen. The iShade is held into place via a band of elastic, which runs across the back of the screen. The elastic is attached at both sides of the iShade, C\I holding the iShade to the screen.
The iShade is designed to be a portable, temporary, lightweight light and privacy shield for a screen, which folds away to the same dimensions of the device.

Claims (4)

  1. Claims iShade I A temporary encbsure, which attaches to a monitor screen to provides; 1) a shield from excess light and; 2) Phvacy for the display whst sUM giving the devices' user unrestricted access to the keyboard and screen itself.

A temporary endosure, according to claim 1, achieved by a 3 sided folding device, which can he made from plastic, wood, cardboard, leather or fabric which is folded around the top and two sides of a monitor screen (laptop, tablet device or any screen). Creating a 3sided canopy around the screen to which it is affixed.
  3. 3. A temporary enclosure, according to claim I, which is fixed via a routed notch running the width of the device. When folded around the screen, tHs notch locates to the top and side edges of the screen. The iShade is held into place via a band of elastic, which runs across the back of the screen. The elastic is attached at both sides of the iShade, holding the Shade to the screen.
  4. 4. A temporary enclosure, according to claim I, which is a portable, temporary, lightweight light and privacy shield for a screen, which folds away to the same dimensions of the device. rN (4
