Abstract

A sun shade comprising of a cocoon shelter that gives the user complete UV protection regardless of the position of the sun. The shelter may preferably be free standing, or fixed to a sun lounger, either temporarily or permanently. The shelter may be used with multiple units to create custom shaded areas. The shelter will preferably have floor inserts that facilitate user comfort and protection. Various types of material may be used to create differing climates within the shaded area.

Description

Title: Sun lounger cocoon
Background:
This invention relates to a sun protection attachment for sun loungers.
Expose to the sun's rays is a major cause of ill health.
Adjacent users of sun loungers may prefer/require different levels of shade from the sun.
Problem: Existing solutions have a number of shortfalls: * Shades -The shadow from traditional shades moves in accordance with the sun; forcing users to relocate or accept exposure to the sun's rays.
* UV tents -Offer complete protection but are less comfortable, isolate the user and require additional ground space, often not available.
* UV clothing -Provides good protection to covered areas, but doesn't typically cover extremities or the face.
The Solution: The sun lounger cocoon enables individuals to control their individual sun shade and privacy.
It offers complete protection, regardless of the position of the sun.
It also offers a private space in a public area.
It requires no additional ground space.
Features: * The sun lounger cocoon offers bespoke shade for users; these personal areas of shade offer improved comfort and health.
* The skin of the sun lounger cocoon is made from UV resistant material, protecting the user.
* Preferably, the cocoon may contain floor inserts for additional comfort and protection: * Pillows * Anti-roll and exit barrier shapes * Ground sheets (padding) * Preferably, cocoons may be linked to increase the protection options.
* Preferably, cocoons may be manufactured in a range of sizes and lengths.
* Preferably, the cocoon could be collapsible, lightweight and portable.
* Preferably, the cocoon could also be used without a lounger * Preferably, the cocoon may also offer protection from other elements.
* Preferably, the cocoon may be manufactured with a range of skin materials designed to create different climates within the cocoon.
