Abstract

An endotracheal tube comprises a reinforced silicon tube 3 with integrated inflatable throat/pharyngeal throat packs 2, 4. When correctly positioned in the base of the pharynx and inflated to the correct pressure creates a complete fluid seal to the lower airway and oesophagus. The device can be inserted via the nasal or oral cavity.
