Abstract

A pop up type gazebo provided with two or more castor wheels which may be fixed or detachably fastenable to two or more of the base plate feet of the metal sections which form the upright legs of the erect gazebo. The castor may preferably be fastened /detached to the frame by the provision of a device being fitted to the castor. The said device may also be combined within the construction of the castor. The purpose of the gazebo having a plurality of wheels is for a compacted pop up gazebo to be extended out on flat and/or uneven surfaces without the need for lifting the structure during the erection procedure.

Description

IMPROVEMENTS TO POP UP GAZEBOS
(001) This invention relates to improvements to pop up type gazebos by the provision of one or more device(s) which may assist the user when extending out and erecting a pop up gazebo.
(002) Pop up gazebos are common and consist of a framework produced of metal tubes arranged such that they provide for a concertina type structure which may be quickly erected when required.
(003) Castors are known and are commonly used to make ease of movement of various items.
(003) When erecting a typical pop up type gazebo the compacted structure is extended out manually by two or more people. If the structure is to be erected on a flat even surface such as concrete, the procedure can be performed with care however erecting the structure on uneven surfaces such as grass is not possible unless the structure is lifted clear of the ground whist being expanded into its erect state.
(004) The present invention seeks to simplify the procedure of erecting a pop up gazebo on even and uneven ground.
*...: (005) According to the present invention there is provided a pop up type gazebo provided * with two or more industry standard castors which may be fixed or detach ably fasten able to : *..* two or more of the base(plates) feet of the metal sections which form the upright legs of the * : erect gazebo and that said casters may be detach ably fasten-able by the provision of one or r more device(s) being filled to said castors, alternatively said device(s) may be combined within the construction of said castors and that the provision of the castors allow for a r*... compacted pop up gazebo to be extended out on flat and or uneven surfaces without the need of lifting the structure during erection procedure. * *
(006) It is preferred that the castors be detach ably fasten able to the base plate feet of the legs of the gazebo to allow for the castors to be removed once the structure as been erected.
(007) It is preferred that said device(s) consist of a U shape section fig 2 members 1 arid 2 and that two devices be fixed or secured to two of the outer edges of the metal plate fig 1 members 1 and 2 onto which the castor wheel is connected and that each said device(s) be provided with a tapped threaded hole capable of receiving a threaded fastener and said thstener be provided with a easy grip section fig 2 members 6 and 7 capable of being hand tightened thereby allowing for the castor to be quickly attached or removed from the base plate(s) forming the foot of the leg(s) of a standard pop up gazebo.
(008) In order that the invention may be more readily understood embodiments thereof will now be described, by way of example only, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, wherein: -Figure 1 is a plan view of the plate to which the castor wheel is secured.
Figure 2 is side elevation on Fig 1.
Figure 3 is side view of base plate foot of leg section of gazebo.
(009) Referring to figure 1 members 1 and 2 are U section devices, members 3,4,5 and 6 are fixings securing device(s) to plate holding castor wheel.
