Abstract
A flexible mobile phone loop attachment that consists of a plate 1 and a loop 2 wherein the attachment may preferably be moulded from a substance such as silicone and formed as part of the devices case or housing 3. The attachment may be used in conjunction with a lanyard or karabiner to facilitate a connection method.
Description
Strong flexible loop for portable electronic device case, housing, enclosure or other.
This invention relates to a strong flexible loop, to be used with a portable electronic device case, housing, enclosure, or other.
Mobile phones and electronic devices are used on a daily basis and are not only used for communication purposes, but for storage of data and images. This data contains everything from personal notes and events, to important business information. Therefore leaving the mobile phone or electronic device a very valuable piece of equipment, not only in monetary value, but in sentimental and personal security.
Many mobile phone and portable device users cover their device in some sort of case, or protective housing or enclosure, whilst this protects the device from accidental damage, it does not prevent the device from being lost or stolen.
Mobile phone theft is dramatically rising, leading to an increase of cost for the user, the insurance company and the police.
To overcome the problem of loss or theft, the present invention proposes a strong pliable loop, extending from a sturdy flexible silicone plate like area, that is attached to the portable electronic device case, housing, enclosure or other during manufacture, so that one whole piece is made.
By attaching one end of a resilient member, such as a lanyard or carabina to the loop and the other end of the resilient member to the user, theft and loss can be prevented.
Preferably any type of product available on the market that has a dipping or threading quality, can attach to, or thread through the loop, such as a lanyard or carabina.
Preferably the device is held in ifs case, hung around the neck, wrapped around the wrist or clipped to the belt or other area, of the user. Thus securing the device.
The strong silicone material that the loop and plate are manufactured from have the ability to stretch and not break when a pull force is applied and then reform back to its original shape when relaxed, thus making sure that the mobile phone or electronic device stays with the user.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows the loop and plate.
Figure 2 shows the loop and plate in a plan view, attached to a standard mobile phone case.
Figure 3 shows the loop and plate from a three quarter side view, attached to a standard mobile phone case.
Figure 4 shows the loop and plate from a three quarter side view, attached to a non-stan-dard mobile phone case.
Figure 5 shows the loop and plate from a rear view, attached to a non-standard mobile phone case.
In figure 1, oop 2 and the plate I are detached from any portable &ectronic device case, housing, enclosure or other. Area 3 demonstrates where any portable electronic device case, housing, enclosure or other, would be moulded to at manufactunng stage, to make one whole piece.
The oop 2 and plate 1 are moulded to the portable electronic device case, housing, enclosure or other, via area 3, making one piece at the manufacturing stage, from material such as sihcone, due to its strength, durability arid pUable quahties. This can be seen in figures 2 and 3, where a standard mobile phone case has been demonstrated and in figures 4 and 5, where a non-standard mobile phone case has demonstrated, The fusion at area 3 can be with any silicone made product and is not limited to a portable &ectronic device case, housing or enclosure, so that one final product is produced with the oop 2 and the plate 1 It can be seen in figure 5 how the loop 2 and plate I blend with a non-standard mobile phone case in area 3, making one whole piece.
The loop 2 enabies. any type of resflient member available on the market, that has a clipping or threading quahty, to attach or thread itself through the loop 2, such as, that of a lanyard or carabina and then attach the other end of the resilient member to the user, either by hanging or clipping. Therefore securing the portable electronic device cases, housing. enclosures or others, to the user and preventing loss or theft.
The flexible strong material that the loop 2 and plate I are made from, such as silicone has the ability to stretch when a pull force is applied and then reform back to its original shape when relaxed.
The material that the said loop 2 and plate I are made from has good longevity, meaning that the product can be reused over and over again. It does not break when a puil force is applied, it also wiLhstands extreme temperatures from -55 °C to +300 C, while still maintaining its useful properties and is also kind to the environment, as it is fully recyclable.
