Abstract
A waterproof, submersible camera housing comprises inner housing 17 and outer housing 18. A shaft 21 extends from the interior of the inner housing to the outside of the exterior housing. The outer housing supports the shaft on bearings 9, and the inner housing is fixed to the shaft by threads 19, so that the inner housing rotates with the shaft but the outer housing does not. A camera holder 5 is supported on the shaft inside the inner housing by bearings 6, and the inner housing has a viewing window 1 through which the camera 4 can record photographs or video. The camera holder 5 has a part 29 which is magnetically attracted to a part 3 mounted on the outer housing 18, so that when the shaft and inner housing rotate, the camera housing does not. Whilst recording, the arrangement allows the inner housing to be spun at a high speed to remove water, dirt and other detritus from the viewing window. The shaft is rotated by a motor 24, the motor and shaft including magnetic or physical coupling means 10, 11 which cause the shaft to rotate when the motor is running.
Description
Description: Submersible Spinning Camera Housing.
The Submersible Spinning Camera Housing is a housing that will for the first time allow the said housing to operate above and below water, no other prior art is capable of doing this and in doing so takes away the problems associated with prior art of which non are Submersible. The Submersible Spinning Camera Housing was originally designed to be very small to accommodate cameras that fit to helmets, are body worn and are waterproof but have the usual problem when faced with rain or snow on the camera viewing window a distorted or unusable picture or video, the spinning housing has a family of different size housings to accommodate most cameras or other optical pieces of equipment, most of these cameras are waterproof and are used for going under water, prior art had neither the small size required for these cameras or the facility to go from above water to below water in the same couple of seconds going from under water to a rain or snow situation instantly while keeping the viewing window tree from rain, snow,or sea debris like and not limited to sea weed or kelp.
The Submersible Spinning Camera Housing is designed to have its camera spinning housing airtight and submersible and its motor housing air tight and submersible, both totally separate and individually replaceable, either housing having the facility to be replaced or exchanged to change the size of camera or size and power of the drive motor,The spinning housing is spun by a diametrically opposed magnet or a plurality of magnets in the rear of the spinning housing shaft being driven by a similar arrangement on the motor shaft that is attracted by the other magnets on the opposite side of the wall When power is applied to the motor the motor spins the magnet or magnets, spinning the magnet or magnets on the opposite side of the wall therefore spinning the spinning housing around the camera or piece of equipment, a second embodiment is by a direct drive coupling between the motor and the spinning housing shaft, the direct drive can also be from the motor shaft only, the camera housing remains submersible at all times, Because magnets are used the housings that the magnets revolve or spin in, have to be made from a materiel that does not produce the LENZE affect like and not limited to plastic or titanium, also all bearings used are made of Ceramic materiel or hybrid ceramic materiel at least, ceramic materiel is total nonmagnetic and does not have any slowing attraction to the magnets, hybrid ceramic bearings have a small attraction.
The Submersible Spinning Camera Rousing can be used in situations where all prior art has had major restrictions, under water, on helmets, body worn, on the outside of racing cars at high speed, motorcycle racing, filming from outside of a car in bad weather, filming from boats, ships in bad weather, aircraft, cycling, in fact anything that has to operate in bad weather and move quickly or has to be small enough to fit on a helmet while filming or photographing, it also never needs a plastic bag or water resistant cover put over it and it can be worn on a helmet or hand held, The Submersible Spinning Camera Housing allows the instant use of a camera in any weather above or below water level, all materiel used in the manufacture of the submersible spinning housing are also non corrosive, shock resistant and the motor housing or camera housing is immediately replaceable, the submersible camera housing can also allow cameras or equipment to transmit their pictures or video via any known medium for example and not restricted to wifi wireless, ultrasonic, infrared and will also allow the viewing of pictures or video that is displayed on -a viewing screen that can be fitted inside the submersible spinning camera housing and displayed at the viewing window.
Novelty of The Submersible spinning camera housing.
1 Is Submersible. it spins its camera housing, viewing window and motor under water or above water while spinning with no physical connection between spinning shaft or drive motor.
2 can transmit the information from encapsulated equipment from inside the spinning housing by wifi, radio, wireless, while submerged or above water.
3 Has no direct physical connection from its drive motor to the spinning housing drive shaft 4 can be fitted underneath marine crafts or boats under the waterline S can be hand held with a pistol type grip and trigger for on off operation.
6 can have a light for location 7 does not need additional accessories to keep the inside camera dry above or below water.
8 can float 9 can travel fitted to a vehicle at high speed in rain and snow both camera housing and motor housing are swappable for various size spinning housings or various size and higher power drive motors
No prior art has been made to do this, * 4
