Abstract

A balloon assembly for preventing an object freely moveable inside an inflated balloon from being propelled when the balloon is ruptured/or burst comprises an enclosure means disposed inside the inflated balloon and within which the object is located. The enclosure has a non-aerodynamic shape and acts to arrest or slow movement of the object to assist in preventing the object from travelling with any force or speed when the balloon bursts. The object preferably comprises a light or sound emitter, or a data transmitter or emitter, and an energy or power source. The enclosure preferably includes an aperture for accessing the energy or power source.

Description

A BALLOON WITH AN ILLUMINATION AND OR SOUND AND OR DATA
DEVICE
The invention is a balloon intended for interactive display or play purposes which are commonly inflated by air or helium and are sealed by applying a knot or anotherfastener device. Illuminated Balloons have previously been proposed however the object of the present invention is to enable user interaction with a light emitter and or sound emitter and or data emitter within the balloon and to prevent the interactive emitter becoming a projectile hazard as a result of deliberate or accidental membrane rupture that is simple and cost-effective during assembly. The invention comprises of an inflatable expansible membrane body with an inlet port to allow entry of air or gas with a self-contained emitting source with its own power energy source inserted into the membrane body whereupon the emitting source is capable of free movement within the inflated membrane body in response to user movement of the balloon upon an air or gas tight seal applied to the inlet. The self-contained emitter and power or energy source is free moving inside of the inflated balloon for fun and interactive display reasons, and are enclosed within a non-aerodynamic enclosure of a material to purposefully rapidly absorb air and act non-aerodynamically to damper and comply immediately with the forces of gravity to prevent the emitting source and the power or energy source from travelling in any direction other than downwards. This is achieved by the non-aerodynamic shape and material of the enclosure which is also able to maintain its shape form in response to contact with the wall of the membrane whilst being moved about within the balloon. The enclosure material also being able to promote enhancement of the emitter media and providing an aperture for activation of the power or energy source.

Claims (1)

  1. CLAIMS1. A balloon assembly comprising: an inflatable expansible membrane body with an inlet port to allow entry of air or gas; a self-contained energy or power source with a light or sound or data receiving emitter which is inserted into the membrane body whereupon the emitting source is capable of free movement within the inflated membrane body in response to user movement of the balloon upon an air or gas tight seal applied to the inlet port; the emitting source and energy or power source being within a non-aerodynamic enclosure capable of promoting light or sound or data enhancement and maintaining its form in response to contact with the wall of the membrane; the enclosure and material being purposeful for assisting rapidly absorbing air to act non-aerodynamically to damper and comply with immediate effect to the forces of gravity preventing the emitting source becoming a projectile hazard in response to a rupture of the balloon when in an inflated condition; the enclosure providing an aperture for access to activate to the emitters energy or power source upon user requirement.
