Abstract

A clip suitable for securing the lid of a wheelie dustbin closed comprises a single piece of a flexible material, preferably plastic, metal or nylon. The clip has a scrolled end 2 for securing to the handle on the lid of the bin and a hook 1 at the other end for securing under the lip of the body of the bin. The clip is bent at approximately 80 degrees in the central area 3 to provide the required tension necessary to keep the lid of the bin securely closed.

Description

"WHEELIE BIN CLIP"
Field of Invention
The present. invention relates to wheelie bin lids. In particular, the invention relates to a new type of "wheelie bin clip" that secures the lid in a closed position.
Background to the Invention
A "wheclie bin clip" is a devise used to keep the wheelie bin lid in a closed position. It is found on wheelie bins to secure the wheelie bin lids against the adverse weather conditions, animals or birds trying to dislodge the contents of the bin.
Current wheclie bin cUps require fixing to a wheelie bin with the aid of glue or screws, or may require springs or rubber bands.
Wheelie bin users may prefer a simpler, more inexpensive option.
Accordingly there exists a need for a simpler more effective and cheaper way of securing your wheelic bin lid.
Statement of Invention
Accordingly there is provided a clip comprising a single piece of plastic comprising a hook at one end and a scroll at the other with an approximate 80° bend at it's midpoint.
The advantages of the invention are that it allows for a strong effective way of securing your wheelie bin lid: it is easy to install; it requires no fixing ie. glue or screws; it is very inexpensive and can be constructed from a variety of different materials such as plastic, metal or nylon.

The invention will be more clearly understood from the following description of an embodiment, thereof, given by way of an example only. With reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:-Figure la and Figure lb show a side view and isometric view of the "wheelie bin clip" according to the invention.
Detailed Description
Referring now to the drawings and initially to figures la and lb, there is illustrated a cUp comprising a single piece of plastic, metal or nylon, a hook (1), a scroll (2) and a bend (3).
Referring to figure la, the clip in it's entirety is a single piece of plastic, metal or nylon which can be of varying lengths and thickness. It is comprised of a hook as illustrated in (1) which hooks onto the main body of the wheelie bin just under the lid. The scroll as seen in (2) is designed to fit around the handle of the wheelie bin. While the bend, as seen in (3) is what gives the clip tension to keep the wheelie bin lid closed.
