Abstract

A spherical photograph display unit comprises a plurality of frames that clip together to make a spherical whole. Preferably, the photograph display unit comprises 20 hexagonal and 12 pentagonal frames. Each frame may be provided with a plastic window to retain a photograph. Alternatively, items to be displayed may be attached directly to the frames. The photograph display unit may be provided pre-assembled or the user may assemble it prior to use.

Description

Photo Ball Display Unit -Description
This invention provides a unique, creative and fun way to display photographs and or other emblems. It also offers the opportunity to display a large number of photos without taking up a vast amount of space and has the added bonus of being easily moved around -no permanent fixings required' The Photo Ball is a photo frame kit that snaps together to form a compact ball shape to which you can add up to 32 of your own photos to display. But the display does not have to be limited to photos and anything of a flat nature that can be cut to fit the individual frames can be used.
The speciality clips hold the frames to each other in a set pattern so that the exterior is almost seamless. The frames are an even mix of 12 pentagonal and 20 larger hexagonal shaped frames that when all clipped together, form a ball shape.
Each frame has a protective plastic "window" cut to shape that you insert along with the photo or other emblem of your choice.
An alternative would be a Photo Ball pre-assembled with images.
A further alternative would be a Photo Ball kit supplied with blank cards or collectable cards The invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings as follows: Drawing 1: -shows the two types of individual photo frames that make up the photo ball -the pentagon shape (12 in total in the completed Photo Ball) and the hexagon shape (20 in total in the completed Photo Ball) Drawing 2:-shows the two types of clips that join up the individual photo frames -these are clips that join hexagonal to hexagonal frames and clips that join the hexagonal to pentagon frames.
Drawing 3: -shows a partially completed photo ball as it is assembled by the user as well as elevation and plan views of the completed photo ball.
Drawing 1 Figure 1 shows section views of a single pentagon frame and Figure 2 shows a plan view of a single pentagon frame.
Figure 3 shows section views of a single hexagon frame and Figure 4 shows a plan view of a single hexagon frame.
Drawing 2 FigureS shows a section view of the Hexagon-Pentagon clip illustrating where the photo or similar is trapped in the assembly.
Figure 6 shows a section view of the Hexagon-Hexagon clip illustrating where the photo or similar is trapped in the assembly.
Drawing 3 Figure 7 shows the partial assembly of the complete photo ball illustrating the positioning of the different shape frames with the connecting clips on the internal surface.
FigureS shows the top (plan) view of the fully completed photo ball and Figure 9 shows a side (elevation) view These together demonstrate the finished shape which would have photos in each of the pentagon and each of the hexagon frame shapes.

Claims (4)

  1. Claims 1. A self-assembled photo display unit comprising of 20 hexagonal; 12 pentagonal frames; and clear protective windows which clip together in a unique way which results in a spherical ball type display.
  2. 2. A photo display unit which is assembled by the user following an instruction guide.
  3. 3. A photo display unit with pre-cut blank inserts which can be decorated by the user and assembled into the ball shape
  4. 4. A photo display unit which can be personalised to display any flat material that can be cut to fit over the blank inserts.S. A pre-assembled photo display unit comprising 20 hexagonal and 12 pentagonal frames -each displaying individual images or graphic content.
